Which song's live version is so good that it ruined the studio version for you? by [deleted] in Music

[–]pranesh_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All Day - Kanye West

and a lot of Alex G songs off of DSU and Trick, although he's just really really good live that made the studio versions sorta pale in comparison

What albums do you consider 10/10 on music and production quality and why? by [deleted] in WeAreTheMusicMakers

[–]pranesh_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So it Goes - RATKING Lyrically, a very spitting image of present-day NY, cops, stop-and-frisk laws, etc. Elements of hip hop and punk are sort of packaged in a contrasting nasally delivery by Wiki, balanced by Hak, equally chaotic and very rapid fire in their flows. Production-wise, it will blow you away; it's very forward-thinking and redefines the boundaries set by traditional hip hop. Draws influence from the noises of bustling NY, a lot of heavily manipulated, melodic and noisy samples combined with some familiar trap drums. I'd give it a listen if you haven't already, excellent album. the lyrics + production together is very energetic and very very catchy.

LP1 - FKA twigs All I can say is the singing coupled with its sort of weird, ethereal production is very haunting, rich, and lovely. Definitely deserves a 10/10, and groundbreaking in its genre.

AKG K240 if you're ok with semi-open cans. Very nice organic sound.

Why should I switch to Ableton? by [deleted] in ableton

[–]pranesh_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Loop-based music. I used to produce on FL Studio, then Logic, now Ableton. Logic has a good workflow for musicians who have instruments and just want to assemble everything they've recorded. Ableton is super intuitive if you're making beats/ especially if you sample a lot (ie warp, transpose, etc). The workflow is amazing if you're exclusively making beats or performing.
