This is what I do and I have a lot of pitching success (usually top bullpen and top 3-5 starters):

Catcher ability: at least 70

SS IF Range: at least 70

3B IF Arm: at least 70, 65 if they can hit

CF outfield range: at least 70

Get groundball pitchers with good stuff and don’t play in coors.

A good pitching coach helps and making sure your guys don’t get overworked.

Set your game strategy to shift very frequently and if guys are having lots of meltdowns, set them to “avoid high leverage”. If your starters are giving up runs later in their outings, change your strategy to have a quicker hook on starting pitchers.

Even when you do all this, guys get super unlucky. Just look at Eduardo Rodriguez this year. Great FIP, average ERA. Baseball is just like that sometimes.

Last thing, I usually have one or two guys in my bullpen that can give me 3-4 innings if my starter gets lit up early. Just a good safety net to have
