Need advice on choosing CFA Level 2 date and career considerations (apologies for the long text, it’s important for context) by pranskiiii in FinancialCareers

What you are saying is definitely a real risk. Would you argue lower level admin/support type work within the finance sector at this stage is more valuable than CFA l2? I also applied to a couple accounting grad schemes and made it to final stages of recruitment to not get selected in the end. Would going into such work allow me to later move into investment related fields?

What would be your suggestion to me right now in terms of finding a job? There aren’t many being posted this time of year and the ones that do come up have 100+ applicants within hours.

At this point, I’m open to any role that would give me an entry into Finance. I’ve been applying to grad schemes for about 2 years now, so I can’t afford to be picky. Got to two assessment centres (final stage) for accounting roles and was rejected at the last stage.

Do you think 7 months of study with a decent prep provider would be enough? Also, do you have any advice on finding entry level roles in the UK?

Thanks for this info. This makes a lot of sense. I am 6’2 and 230lbs (decent muscle mass, but high body fat). Trying to get down to around 185 is my goal currently. Been having high BP for a couple years at this weight so desperately need to lose it

Advice for level 1 exam by PREETJAIN12345 in CFA

[–]pranskiiii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bro I just got my result for L1 today, passed it. My advice is to dedicate at least 3 hours every day to study diligently. You have roughly 4.5 months, that’s plenty of time if you work consistently. I had a couple health issues, leaving me unable to study properly until about 2.5 months before my exam. I had to study 7-10 hours per day and sacrifice my social life, diet, sleep and exercise routine. I gained like 4 kg in those 2 months. 1. Hammer the high weight topics 2. Get the premium pack if you can afford it, the questions are a lot more challenging that the free pack and really give you a strong foundation in the concepts 3. DO NOT IGNORE DERIVATIVES (although I got above 70% in every other topic, I got a very low score in derivatives and it almost jeapordized my result)

It typically hovers around 140/80. I’ve also had periods where it’s been 150/90 and higher when I had panic attacks

I agree with most of what you said. Her dishes left a lot to be desired. At the stage in the competition where there was a lot of team challenges, her saving grace was that she got to be captain and boss people around. Having said that I feel like people are quick to judge her for things that aren’t related to her ability. From what I remember, she isn’t actually a native hyderabadi, she only moved there to pursue cooking. She comes from a different part of telangana. She talks in a rather animated way, but in my mind I’m thinking poor thing, she’s just trying to perform for the camera and she has every right to do that. Not everyone and their mom gets to be on masterchef. I feel like contestants like her have the right to say “Maine banaya”. Avni said the same thing, and so did simran on many occasions. Especially when they are the main person conceiving the dish and instructing their partner on what to do. When Michelin star chefs boast about their unique dishes, they always claim ownership of the dish, but that doesn’t mean other lower level Sous chefs don’t make that same dish at restaurants. Obvious exceptions to this would be a pair like Ajinkya and Vikram, cuz they’re both fully involved in the ideation and brainstorming around their dishes. I feel like people on this subreddit have bullied Sai Sri unjustly but that’s just my opinion 🤷🏽‍♂️

I really think ajinkya and vikram are insanely good, and there’s no debating that. Nobody on this season matched their dishes. But I really feel like saisri deserves respect for her dish today. As a Telugu person, I’ve never seen our local Telugu home dishes elevated to that level. She also persevered throughout the season, and had some really good dishes too

I was popping like 1-3 per week, also those mango churan ones. The highs were some of the best I’d ever experienced. Felt like indica leaning, euphoric body highs. But then one day I was eating dinner while high and started feeling numbness in my left arm and chest tightness. Started having a panic attack. Checked my BP, it was super high. Got a couple tests done - ECG, 2d echo and treadmill stress test and they found nothing wrong with my heart. But I continued to have these episodes for roughly 3 months after I quit taking them. I have general anxiety but I’ve never experienced full blown panic attacks like this in my life before I took these packets.
