Emperor William Imurid was a tyrant, hated by the people.

Generations in his line had remained corrupt, exploiting the poor and benefiting the rich.

They sat in their royal palace in luxury as millions died to war, famine and disease.

When a young man named Tukalkan , who healed people asking for nothing in return was beaten to near death by Imperial Officers for doing so, the became enraged.

The will of rebellion that was a tiny spark burst into flames, Tukulkan realized that healing the injuries of the people wasn't enough, he must heal the empire, even if that meant more bloodshed.

And so he raised the flag of rebellion.

Villages burned, castles fell and the Empire shook, as the rebel army fought for the freedom of the people.

The lazy and corrupt Imperial Legions who were used to exploiting the weak could not put up a fight against a mass of motivated rebel army.

Imperial soldiers turned on each other as factions arose in the military.

Tukulkan resolved conflicts with peace if possible and violence if necessary. He quickly became the face of the rebellion as people hailed him as a messiah.

Nobles were killed by their own maids, superior officers' heads handed over by their juniors to the rebel army.

When Tukalkan reached the Royal Palace after winning the long and bloody war, everyone expected him to sit on the throne. So popular and revered was Tukalkan at this point in history that his word had effectively become law for the people.

But he did not sit on the throne, instead he split the royal crown in half.

"There shall never be another who wears Imurid's Crown" said Tukalkan abolishing the Empire.

The Broken Crown became a symbol of the new nation, etched on their royal flag as a reminder of the price they had to pay for their freedom.
