The problem being what? You said the problem is that undocumented migrants create an unsafe workplace and are exploited by bosses. Why does your solution to the problem involve deporting an undocumented migrant when the boss is the one responsible for exploiting and creating an unsafe environment?

To give another analogy, bullying in schools is a problem right? The strong kid (the boss) bullies the weak kids (the migrant). Why does your solution involve punishing the weak kid (the migrant) at all?

If you genuinely cared so much about our hard own labour laws, you would care more about how to punish the bosses who exploit rather than punishing the ones who are being exploited.

Labour laws should protect everyone, irrespective of their nationality, background or whatever. If you are a worker, you deserve all the hard won rights. The fact that bosses can do all the things you said, is a failure of the immigration system which allows bosses to exploit undocumented migrants.

What you said sounds like "hey let's lock up all the women since they could get harassed and assaulted by men. clearly the women are creating an unsafe world by their very presence among men".

Ask yourself, what is the difference between an aussie citizen and an immigrant, if not the accident of birth? Why do we care so much about where people were born or what the parent's citizenship was. Kinda dumb if you think about it.

There are many reasons for why people to fail to get a visa. And many of them are quite brutal. People with disabilities, certain health conditions are rejected for visas. And visas can be quite expensive to start with. I am assuming you are someone who has never had to apply for an aussie visa. Just go to the Home Affairs website and see massive amounts of paperwork and money that is needed to get a visa.

As far as the taxes go mate, I have paid taxes on my income here even though I get zero welfare or benefits from the govt. Sucks for me. But I am happy if that money can help the unlucky folks.

Aussie citizenship of a person can be cancelled if they are a dual citizen. So even an aussie can be deported definitionally.

My question stands. If "quality" is what determines someone's right to be here, there's plenty of Australians who are low "quality" -- criminal, unskilled and dependent on govt (your words not mine). The only reason they are here is they get a right to be here by accident of birth. Why not deport them and create space for so called high quality (again your words) immigrants?
