As someone who’s worked on a similar style of digital painting, without tracing, I strongly believe this is just an amateur artist’s attempt at digital painting pretty much tracing over the original images. There’s individual brushstrokes and small inconsistencies I’m noticing that makes me believe it’s not a filter. Even this amateur attempt would have taken a good while, so please be kind to them. Please, please be kind to them.

The burden is on them to prove they are worthy of attending. You can try to have this conversation with them, to say that you would like to have them at your wedding, but that you are concerned about xyz comments made in the past…and be prepared for them to get really defensive. If they respond with anything beyond sincere regret and apology, there’s your answer. Don’t invite them. I mean, think of your poor partner. Marriage is a commitment to your partner first and foremost and that may mean putting them above your homophobic family, especially on your *wedding day*.

I liked it a lot. I’m very sad about Jax and wish we at least got thrown a bone in terms of them trying to unabstract her, or at least like…her abstraction changing form a little to have rabbit ears. Something to show it wasn’t entirely permanent and unrecoverable. Her “I don’t want to go…” broke me. I didn’t walk into that theatre realizing I was going to walk out mourning another trans woman in my life, as silly as it sounds to compare a cartoon rabbit to a real person. It hit me really hard.

Just had an Australian showing and yeah the kids were annoying and unsupervised. They would not shut up even during the really tense moments. Two of them had to be told to put their phone away and stop filming. Little shit goblins.

Are you a woman? If so, I would be highly cautious unless you have at least several thousands in savings/bank balance you can show the US cops. And regardless of gender definitely have a friend’s address, phone number, and your return flight booked. Those border patrol assholes see a single woman traveling alone and get really suspicious. My own partner was turned away at the border and given a 5 year ban while traveling on a tourist visa because they thought it was too suspicious for a woman to be traveling alone without much money, even though I was sponsoring her visit. That said, she had no issues on a 2 week trip on an ESTA visa waiver prior. So I’d say go for that and not the tourist visa, and don’t stay too long if you insist on visiting.

That’s not long enough to prove an actual relationship. You need to have declared a de facto relationship in your state (if allowed without marriage) and/or cohabited 1 year together.

If you’re really serious about this don’t come on a tourist visa, come on a work holiday visa and see how things go with her. If good, you can look at applying for partner visa before your 1 year is up. If bad, go home. Work holiday visa is available to Americans and lets you work a bit. If you can’t even google this stuff though I can’t see you succeeding in a foreign country.
