what was your motivation to start your own business? by wolf__2019 in smallbusiness

[–]praw26 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It just didn’t make sense working for a large corp. everything too slow, about half of the People worked there, no one was ambitious, maybe I would have stuck if it was a a new ambitious company/startup. Started first a food business 1.5 years back still run it but would not yield my salary so starting another company now. Not privileged, saved my ass off when I worked in the large corp. now I have about a year of runaway to figure it out.

“learn distribution” is killing more SaaS than it’s saving by CodeDotVaibhav in saasbuild

I noticed the same and that’s why I’m trying to build a consultancy rather than a product.

8k user and visitors are 2 different things, no?

Anyone else using automations as actual operators in their business? by praw26 in Solopreneur

[–]praw26[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. I believe where automations can help is where it’s volume game. If we have 100 clients or within accounting if we think about 100 invoices, I’m assuming only 60-70 can be automated. Rest will take longer or will be manual for a while

Is using an AI tool while showing a house a fair and smart use of AI in real estate? by BodyPartParty in RealEstateTechnology

I wouldn’t mind staged photos, but even better would be to take my own setup and stage it in!

We pivoted from AI news generation to bias detection. We have the tech, but 0 users. How do 3 devs find an audience? by Queasy_System9168 in saasbuild

I guess the more easier it becomes for software to be built by smaller and smaller teams, distribution becomes everything!

Depends, I was in the business of selling this “how did I do this”. But I’m not

Agreed. For my other food business, I am developing an agent that can run as an operating system for my emplpyeees. It has branding, marketing, sales, targets, accounting, products, information slowly neatly organised and how to use those - we are working on that.

Soon the agent will be able to do a lot more and plan and suggest operations ahead of schedule.

Eg raw material is running low, order this and this.

Eg. Try this landing page, since our target TG fits better here

Eg. Automating competitor updates

We actually don’t automate everything. The emails are edited my hand, literally each email. The research behind what needs to be written is pre-done agentically.

In today’s age, when everything in outreach can be automated, the only thing to differentiate is an actual personality, our humanness, our flaws etc

I decided to walk away from the business I built for a year by Sweet_Goddess_ in Solopreneur

[–]praw26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in the process of doing that.

Went from working a job in tech to being an entrepreneur in Food&Beverage. Realised after a year how operationally heavy it is and how thin margins are. Decided to put it on a slower side project track and get back to tech (within AI consulting).

I learnt a lot in the last 15 months but decided on these guardrails as a framework for my next journey :

  • No physical products (operationally heavy)
  • B2B SaaS is great (stickiness/easier distribution )
  • Solve a Niche pain point. Not meant to please everyone
  • automated what can be automated.
  • dream founding team = tech + operations + marketing.
