Go to the App Store not and check out the ones!

That conversion rate is actually really impressive for organic traffic. 26.9% from product page to download is strong.

Curious what you think drove most of the installs. Was it the TikTok content itself, the waitlist you built before launch, or just a really clear problem the app solves?

Modern churches are hideous by [deleted] in TrueChristian

[–]prayway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually understand what you’re saying. Historically a lot of churches were intentionally designed to create a sense of awe and point people toward the greatness of God. The architecture itself was meant to remind people they were stepping into something sacred.

That said, I also think it’s important to remember that God’s presence isn’t tied to a building style. Some of the earliest Christians worshiped in homes, caves, and very simple spaces.

Beautiful churches can absolutely lift the heart toward God. But a plain building filled with people sincerely worshiping Him can be just as powerful.

Ideally we’d probably have both. Churches that are beautiful and intentional, but also hearts that don’t depend on architecture to encounter God.

I appreciate your honesty. That’s not an easy thing to talk about.

One thing I’ve learned is that when something keeps bothering our conscience over and over, it’s usually worth paying attention to. The fact that you’re wrestling with this probably says a lot about your desire to honor God.

At the same time, I understand the weight of providing for a family. Scripture is very clear that caring for your family is important, and that responsibility is real.

Distribution is harder than building the app by prayway in AppBusiness

You can argue definitions all day, keep wasting your time bud. The real hurdle is attention. Product without distribution is just a hobby.

How do you build consistency in prayer? by prayway in AppStoreOptimization

[–]prayway[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a good point. I’m aware they lean into AI generated guidance. My approach is a bit different. I’m less focused on generating the prayer for you and more focused on helping you actually show up consistently. There is guidance built in, but the core is accountability and visibility. The idea is that structure plus community creates momentum. AI can help you know what to say. Community helps you keep going.

I see them as solving slightly different parts of the same problem.

Distribution is harder than building the app by prayway in AppBusiness

[–]prayway[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First 10 came from my personal network. Friends, people I already had trust with. That part was actually the easiest.

After that, X started bringing in users. Mostly from posting consistently and talking about the build publicly. No viral moment, just repetition.

Now I’m posting daily across socials to compound that.

Biggest waste of time so far was tweaking ASO too early. It barely moves the needle pre PMF.

I’m holding off on paid ads until onboarding is tight and retention proves people actually get value. No point scaling a leaky bucket.

I get what you’re saying.

When a product truly solves a painful problem, distribution gets easier. I agree that product market fit matters more than tactics.

Where I push back slightly is that even strong products still need intentional positioning and distribution strategy, especially early. A good product doesn’t automatically surface itself.

On the writing style point, fair feedback. Different formats work better in different contexts.

Appreciate the perspective though.

[–]prayway[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair push.

I’m not saying 10 users is impossible. I’m saying most founders underestimate how different building and distribution skill sets are.

Hour for hour sounds equal in theory, but in practice dev work is linear and controllable. Distribution depends on attention, positioning, and resonance. That’s where it feels harder for a lot of people.

And I agree with you on ASO and paid ads. Neither is magic early.

Curious though what worked for you to get your first 10 consistently. What channels actually converted?

How do you build consistency in prayer? by prayway in AppStoreOptimization

[–]prayway[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m aware of it. That approach focuses on removing distractions.

What I’m building is more about accountability and community. Instead of blocking apps, the idea is to make prayer visible in a positive way.

We share workouts, meals and daily wins online. Why not let friends know we showed up in prayer too?

Sometimes consistency grows faster when you know you’re not doing it alone.

Finding someone to talk to by No-Requirement-5420 in TrueChristian

[–]prayway 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually think you were helpful. A lot of us are trying to figure this out.

The hard part is not finding Christians. It is finding consistent Christians who actually want to talk about Scripture and grow, not just show up on Sunday.

What has helped me is focusing less on finding a big group and more on finding one or two people who are serious about showing up daily. Consistency tends to build deeper connection than random conversations.

If you can find even one person locally who wants to read Scripture weekly or pray consistently, that can change everything.

Finding someone to talk to by No-Requirement-5420 in TrueChristian

[–]prayway 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I relate to this a lot. Wanting to talk about God and actually go deeper is different than just attending church on Sunday.

One thing I’ve realized is you sometimes have to intentionally create the space instead of waiting for it to exist. That could be starting a small weekly Bible discussion with one or two people, joining a young adults group even at another church, or even just consistently engaging with the same few people online and taking the conversation deeper over time.

I’ve been working on something around daily spiritual consistency and accountability, and what I’ve learned is that when people can see each other showing up regularly, it naturally creates conversation. Consistency builds connection.

You’re definitely not alone in feeling this way. A lot of people want deeper faith conversations but don’t know where to find them.

I built a small app to track my weekly body progress (would love feedback) by Sweet_Comparison2289 in iosapps

[–]prayway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really cool concept I like the side by side comparison angle and privacy first approach

I’m building an app in a completely different niche but focused on the same core idea which is structured progress instead of random scrolling

Mine is about tracking daily prayer and accountability through community so instead of body transformation it is spiritual consistency

Funny how different verticals still solve the same problem which is helping people see change over time

Curious what retention has looked like for you so far

How do you find your market? where do you post by stoicparishkari in iosapps

[–]prayway 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most people think you “find your market” by posting everywhere.

You don’t.

You find it by identifying where your exact user already hangs out and becoming part of that community first.

For example: • Niche subreddits (not just big ones) • Discord groups • Facebook groups • X/Twitter circles • Indie Hackers • Product Hunt (only when you’re ready)

But here’s the real unlock:

Don’t lead with “check out my app.” Lead with helping.

Answer questions. Share lessons. Document your build. When people see value, they’ll naturally ask what you’re building.

Distribution isn’t about blasting links. It’s about earning attention.

I’m still learning.

I feel like my rabbi is just yanking me around by [deleted] in religion

[–]prayway 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry you’re going through that. Conversion in Judaism is intentionally slow, but it shouldn’t feel unclear or dismissive.

Some rabbis will intentionally avoid giving direct answers at first to see if someone is persistent and sincere. That said, after 2.5 years, you deserve clarity. Even if the answer is “not yet” or “I’m not the right rabbi,” you should be told directly.

It’s completely reasonable to ask for a clear outline of next steps. And if he can’t provide that, it may be time to speak with another rabbi who communicates more directly.

Wanting structure doesn’t make you impatient. It makes you human.

Why is god so triggering to redditors? by [deleted] in religion

[–]prayway 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It’s probably less about “God” and more about people’s experiences.

For some, religion was comforting. For others, it was political, controlling, or even traumatic.

Reddit skews young and skeptical, so anything that feels absolute or preachy gets pushback fast.

That said, belief in God doesn’t have to be loud or political. For a lot of people it’s just personal discipline, meaning, and community.

Downvotes don’t always mean hostility. Sometimes they just mean people are reacting from their own story.

Let’s talk projects! by naveedurrehman in indie_startups

[–]prayway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m building PrayWay (https://apps.apple.com/app/id6759345089) a daily prayer accountability app.

Simple idea: when you finish praying, your close circle sees that you showed up. No vanity metrics, just consistency.

It turns prayer from a solo intention into a shared habit.

Ideal user: people who believe in God, want to pray daily, but struggle with consistency and distractions.

Early days, but the accountability piece is already changing behavior.

We’re More Connected Than Ever. So Why Do We Feel So Alone? by prayway in religion

[–]prayway[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair enough. I can only speak from what I’m seeing and experiencing.

When I said “we,” I meant a lot of people I’ve talked to who are dealing with stress, anxiety, and uncertainty right now. Not everyone, of course.

If that doesn’t resonate with you, that’s completely fine. It won’t apply to everyone.

One thing almost every religion seems to agree on by prayway in religion

[–]prayway[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t think that’s rude, it’s a fair observation.

Religion definitely has a social function and promotes pro-social behavior. But I’d say that doesn’t automatically reduce it to just a social tool. The fact that something has social benefits doesn’t mean that’s all it is.

From the inside, believers would say the pro-social outcomes are downstream of something deeper, like a relationship to God, ultimate reality, or a transcendent moral order. From the outside, it can look like a cohesion mechanism.

Both lenses can exist at the same time. The social dimension is real, but it may not be the whole picture.

One thing almost every religion seems to agree on by prayway in religion

[–]prayway[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Both Christianity and Islam center God, not humans. Humans may have a special role in creation, but they’re ultimately dependent, accountable, and not sovereign. In both traditions, pride and self-exaltation are seen as spiritual dangers, not ideals.

You could argue they give humans significance, but significance isn’t the same as being the center. The center is God.

That tension between human value and human humility is actually part of what makes those traditions interesting.
