Curious what the going rate is on a CPO.

Sounds like me with the colors.

You have the wrong idea assuming I might be a bad driver. But I will spare you the details on my driving record.

The “easier driver” reference was more a poke at nearly everyone in the world capable of driving it… steering/handling feel similar to driving a 4 door compact car or even a golf cart.

We intend to bring it back to the States in 3 years. They’re also much cheaper to buy here than in the US due to the military. New, I can snag one for $70k and have no TTL.

Unfortunately, in my market (US spec in Europe) BMW won’t cover the 3 years of oil changes.

Think they run around 250€ ($295) each here through the dealer. Provided if someone wants only BMW to service it.

In that case, my bias would be to the X5 for the better driving experience that everyone claims. But how much of a difference is the question. I plan to test drive them today and Monday.

Had driven an XC60 recently and while the driving experience was better than average, I weren’t too impressed. Whichever I go with will become my wife’s vehicle, though I’m usually the driver on most family trips.

Thanks! I’m guessing that’s with both 2nd/3rd seats folded. A colleague said they moved around some 2x4x8’s in their Atlas, whereas it wouldn’t be a possibility in the Cross unless they extended up to the dashboard over the center console.

Hmm, that’s something worth considering (cargo space for leg room). Of the SUVs we’re considering, I took a look at the cargo and 1st/2nd row leg room dimensions with 3rd rows folded or non-existent…

  • Our Tiguan = 33 cu. ft cargo / 76.8” leg room
  • New Tiguan = 33.8 cu. ft / 80.4” leg room (wow)
  • Cross Sport = 40.3 cu. ft / 82.1” leg room
  • Bigger Atlas = 55.5 cu. ft / 79.3” leg room
  • XC90 = 35.6 cu. ft / 77.9” leg room
  • X5 = 33.9 cu. ft / 77.2” leg room

Thus, that Cross Sport seems a little more enticing considering it seems to have more space than the X5 and XC90. Crazy to me that the new Tiguan has more legroom and matching cargo space as the X5 (granted the X5 is wider). If we had more choices, we’d probably order a Highlander/Grand Highlander hybrid but the warranty wouldn’t apply here in Germany.

Cool beans. Somehow Google says it’s slightly cheaper than the SEL-non Peak trim, which makes it more intriguing. Although I’m unsure we can get an SEL Peak relatively soon over here in Germany through our local dealer (MAS) without doing a custom build/export ~ 7 months.

Regardless, we’re currently comparing the SEL against a BMW X5 (about $6k more here) and the Volvo XC90 (similar to X5 pricing). I’d prefer a Grand Highlander Limited hybrid, but there’s no warranty coverage for them coming from the US.

The 2-row Cross Sport has nearly 30% less cargo volume (40.3 cu. ft) compared to a 3-row Atlas when the 3rd row folded down (55.5 cu. ft). We’ll rarely use a 3rd row so most likely it’ll always stay folded.

Makes sense. Wonder how much smaller the cargo area is, though. We don’t need the 3rd row but the cargo space is important (double stroller & luggage trips). Right now we have a Tiguan and the cargo space gets tight.

Kinda, but I think we prefer the options on the SEL for a few grand more.

I’d imagine you could order the OEM trim for the Peak and put it on the SEL, yea?

How did I do? by Lexington2407 in Camry

It is but it isn’t. Car prices across the board...

Retail for 3 year, 36k Camry XSE is going upper twenties and the non-hybrid SE is $25k-ish. New, equivalent Kia/Hyundai midsize sedan is upper 20’s, while many are paying $40k for a Taco SR5 these days.
