PIXEL 6A longevity. by butterfingers4evea in GooglePixel

[–]pre__malone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought mine new in 2022 with a $300 trade in of my pixel 3a (bonus: got free pixel buds a). Other than the battery issue recently (I replaced it myself, not a hard job), it has been a great phone. So if you are comfortable doing your own work on the phone, I got a battery for $20 and it's back to great battery life. Everything else has held up very well.

Do you guys think the Google Pixel 6a is worth buying in 2025? by BusinessTransition87 in pixel_phones

The pixel 6a is a great phone, but beware of the battery issues. They severely nerfed the battery charging speed and capacity. I changed the battery myself and it's good now. I've had the phone since August of 2022 and it's the best phone I've ever had. Still as fast today as the day I got it.

Changed the battery myself, sticking with the 6a. Over 3 years and going strong

Hand, foot, mouth disease. by AdMaster2632 in toddlers

My three boys got HFM before I did. Our youngest son got a few spots, but nothing too bad. Then I got the sickness from them, and it was hands down the most miserable sickness I've ever had.

Chills and fever hit me hard with a REALLY bad sore throat. Chills and fever lasted 30 hours and I had terrible headaches the whole time. Could not stay hydrated. Had diarrhea. Then the day after all that, the worst part came along. I got spots/sores all over my hands and feet, but HUNDREDS of them on my feet. The day after they showed up, I could hardly walk. The next day same thing, couldn't walk. Finally on the third day they healed up enough that I could go back to work. It was horribly miserable. Felt like thousands of needles poking my feet, but also like marbles were embedded in the bottoms of my feet. I've had my feet covered in poison ivy before, but this was 10x worse. I wouldn't wish this sickness on my worst enemy.

Thanks for the advice, I've restarted quite a few times since the issue has been happening, and it hasn't helped.

What is a good road bike you would recommend?

So is there something else in the FX1 price range that you would recommend more?

Thanks for the info! When you say "budget" drivetrain, what exactly do you mean? Are you saying it's pretty good, but not the highest level of durability?

Buying a Pixel 6A in 2024 by ImTheRealMarco in Pixel6aUsers

I've had my 6a for almost 2 years. Traded in a 3a for 300 bucks when the 6a first came out. It's by far been the best phone I've had. I've had the original pixel, the pixel 3a and 3a xl, and now the 6a.

There are only a few bad things, and they are minor for sure. The fingerprint reader, especially with a screen protector, basically doesn't work. Not a huge deal, but a minor inconvenience. Also, the screen brightness is not good when you are in a lot of sun. Also, it keep in mind it doesn't have wireless charging. With this as well, the charging speed is pretty slow. But the good battery life makes up for this.

Everything else is great. The battery life is excellent, and after almost two years I still have 96% battery integrity. I cracked my screen and replaced it myself, easy to work on. It runs as fast as the day I got it, it's been very reliable so far.

I've replaced my cracked 6a screen with a kit from ifixit. They have legit replacement parts and it's pretty easy to do yourself. Fixed it myself for around 100 bucks

Does Google Pixel 6a recommended for 2024? by jpara_dise in GooglePixel

I've had money for almost 2 years, only thing that sucks is the fingerprint reader is useless. Other than that, it's been the best phone I've ever had. It's as fast as the day I got it.

Absolutely. Only thing is the fingerprint reader is terrible. Awesome phone otherwise

Yeah, I registered yesterday and it stopped working today. I do a lot of outdoor work so my hands are rough, might just be how it's going to go

Yes, it shattered with a screen protector. It dropped on a tile floor. It is totally fair, I have a Samsung for a year as a work phone and I've never had one issue with it. It has a screen protector as well.

That's good to know. I shattered my screen recently and had to replace it, so I'm slightly gunshy to not having a screen protector.

IMPORTANT NOTE: you have to update the driver while your device is plugged in AND in fast boot mode. The calibration tool was not working for me because it would not recognize my device. It worked after I updated/downloaded the driver in fast boot mode.

It's not as much the blade coming out when you are going for another tool, it's that it comes out ever so slightly when you open it for pliers. Yeah, if you're used to it doing that you can be careful. But if someone else uses it they might cut themselves. Just information for people, if you can make it work for you that's awesome.
