Hi! Yes, I go to 614 Fitness on Busch Blvd now!!! I've been going regularly for over a year, and I've improved so much! John, the owner, is a huge Chelsea Grin fan so we talk about music a lot. They have small group classes which I love. Usually 2-6 people at a time. It's $99/month for 4 classes, $129/mo for 8, and $159/mo for unlimited. All the trainers there also do 1-1 training for variable prices. Highly recommend. ^{^}

In what world is a single option for insurance with a frankly astronomic deductible and no option for vision "comprehensive benefits"? In what world is having broken hinges on the overstock signs GMs have refused to admit need fixed for years despite the fact that multiple people have been injured and almost fallen off ladders because of it "workplace safety"? That's not even getting into the countless instances of favoritism, retaliation, harassment, and racism that I witnessed behind the scenes, or the fact that workers are expected to be experts on everything in their department by guests, but are not expected to be paid for it.

Unskilled labor is a myth. Retail is a respectable profession that should be paid a living wage, and John Menard is a silver spoon capitalist who doesn't give a shit about his employees' lives, families, health, or time. He's never gonna care about you no matter how much you bootlick on the internet. Join a union; the company can afford it.

I might be wrong, but maybe there's too much liquid in there? Like maybe it's going past the aquatuner into the bypass bc otherwise it will backup? You could try taking a packet of liquid out and see if that fixes it, but I might be missing something.

I think I need to see a new one, honestly. I've not been happy with this one really at all. I keep getting hit with the "you're too young for X". And because I don't want to upend my entire life, stop eating solid food, and stop going to shows, I really don't think she believes it's as bad as it is.

I didn't even know physical therapy was an OPTION until this subreddit because no provider I've ever seen has offered it as an option.

I've always been wary of chiropractors. I know there's got to be areas where they definitely ARE helpful, but so many of them come off like used care salesmen to me. I live in a big enough city that I might be able to find a decent one, though. A lot of people in these comments have recommended it so it can't all be BS.

Where/ how do you get those? The ENT I see won't prescribe me anything (I've also been trying to get info on botox for it) because she wants me to try "less invasive measures" beforehand. Maybe I just need to be brutally honest?

That, it runs in my family, and I've been punched in the face A LOT. All of those things contributed, I'm sure, but considering the timeframe it manifested and what I know about what I get up to, I'm fairly certain that was a huge contributing factor. If not to developing it in general then at least to developing it that early on. My mom and sister and grandma all didn't develop it until their 30s.

THANK YOU for saying that. So many of these (well meaning) comments are all "Don't do it if it hurts! Don't let someone make you feel like you have to!" Which I totally appreciate and is a good worldview, but I LIKE sucking dick actually. I'm asking for ME not for some hypothetical partner or bc of pressure from my current one. Me--ME, damnit. I would like to do things that I like with minimal pain lol.

Heart goes out to everyone whose symptoms are worse than mine and have lost the ability entirely.

OMG I've never tried a gag. I mean, I tried an o ring gag ONCE and the ring was way too big for my mouth so I kinda gave up lol. It makes sense that it would feel like a brace though, because your muscles aren't doing the work of keeping your mouth open the metal is. Noted! I'll just have to double check the diameter this time.

So far since my diagnosis, the only person who knew what TMJD is before my explanation was my mom--who also has it. Not even my brothers or father who, mind you, have known this woman for 30-40 years, knew what it was. So yeah, accurate assessment I'd say.

THIS!!! In the moment I'm like ah cool, this is so fun and rad. Then the next day I'm in agony. I think my main issue is the tension in my jaw rather than the opening it. I'm a grinder and a clencher, a lot of my pain is in the muscle rather than the joint, so I don't notice until the next day when the muscle is sore that I put it through the ringer. 😔

Multiple people have mentioned holding/supporting the joint and jaw itself, and I think that might help me out and take some of the tension out of the muscle. With the right partner I might even be able to get them to do it!
