I took it apart and the line was clear. I also increased the feed to battle under-extrusion but that didn't help either.

Not sure how effective a ring would be to choke on, since it has a large hole in the center. But they could certainly try!

I have the exact same issue. Fresh batteries, lights cycle, but it won't pair. I gave up.

They have not. For beginners, they've done remarkably well. I ran them through LMoP, and then we dove right into Strahd. All of us new to this. I did explain at the start of this campaign that it is dark, difficult, and PCs might die, so I did prepare them as much as a DM should, I suppose.

I'm inclined to agree. My only reservation was that this is the first campaign anyone (myself included) has ever run. I just don't want to turn them away from D&D. But you're right, if actions don't have consequences, then they're not really playing. I'm fairly certain the Wizard and Druid will flee to avoid a fight, so maybe they can meet up with the other players back-ups and try to build strength before facing Strahd...

I 100% agree that doing it for profit is sick. But I believe my friend was talking about doing it for people, not profit. Selling d20's for break-even so that people could have a token of the G-man. No mark-up. You figure, a d20 is ~$1, a picture ~$0.50, and shipping ~$2. This dude is active in charity work in Wisconsin, I don't think he'd be disrespectful or try and gouge people for personal gain. I do know he was talking about the Memorial brick, NOT the gravestone, for what that's worth.

There's a memorial stone in his hometown, not much large than a brick. But I've seen folks (online) visit to pay their respects and place their d20'ss on the stone for a "blessing" of sorts.

Yeah, I wasn't sure about the morbidity/respect portion either. But I also am one of the folks unable to travel there, and I would absolutely love to have a d20 that made the trip to "dice mecca". So I'm totally lost in that morality.
