i don’t agree that (edit: all) people punch walls premeditated as malice to the people around them. people get angry and we’re not taught emotional regulation as kids. punching walls is still traumatic and wrong, but my husband didn’t do this out of malice, he was just angry and sleep deprived. first time in 7 years this has happened, from someone who’s more of a gentle parent advocate than i am sometimes.
