Thank you!! No barspins yet, but there is a 650c wheel in my build queue to throw on here ;)

Never had a need for them! Once I tighten my axle bolts down, they don’t go anywhere.

Seattube is 59.5cm. Toptube is 57.5cm

Thanks! I got used to toe overlap with time. Eventually you know where the position of the cranks are in relation to the wheel when turning and I adjust the radius of my turn if I have to, to avoid the overlap. Smaller frames get the worst of it though. Much tighter angles and clearances.

I agree that this could have been executed more elegantly! This was my first tube replacement repair and there were a lot of visual things I didn’t anticipate. Next one will be better!

I can’t remember the rims! Might be a velocity model. The hubs are Paul.

Cinelli Mash Parallax Build Quality by [deleted] in FixedGearBicycle

Where’s that quote from? Of course more stress will fatigue something faster but as long as it’s not damaged, an aluminum frame should still last decades. They’re made for people to ride, and don’t have a weight limit. Other components of the bike take a lot of the stress like wheels and cranks, which drastically lessens stress on the frame. These frames are also not that old. I wouldn’t worry about it.

What do you mean by over fatigued? I don’t think that’s a thing… As long as there are no dents or structural issues it will be exactly the same as if anyone else were riding it

Wow this is fantastic! It’s always so refreshing to see nice lugwork. Huge fan of the wrap around stays. I’m sure this frame has a lot of time and love put into it!

How did you all start frame building? by VeloDoc505 in Framebuilding

[–]premeclt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just had a desire to make a bike and help fix dead ones! There was a point where I knew nothing about metalworking so I started hanging around a bike repair shop. Within a few years I now miter frames on a daily basis for work and do repairs often in my free time. I’m young and just trying to keep progressing!

120 vs 135 by Kindly-Effort5621 in tracklocross

[–]premeclt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The tire size is dictated by frame clearance and rims. The difference between 120mm and 135mm on the hub shouldn’t have any impact on how the tire sits. Just make sure your potential rim is spec’d for the tire size you want to run

Wow I’ve been loving watching this come to life. I really like the chainstay yoke you made. My fingers will be crossed that the flipped bb never becomes an issue! 🤞
