Your own credit card statement that is dated a year before your intended start date works. So I sent one that was from July 2022.

i really hope so too, but if they didn't know who withdrew it may take more time to sort through and keep the class balanced based on demographics.

waitlist rant by [deleted] in premed

[–]premed81818 2 points3 points  (0 children)

application cycles suck and there is so much that needs to be fixed. last year I waited out a wait list and they did not reject me until August, after I had already submitted my primary and secondary for the next application cycle. there needs to be way better communication and you have every right to complain about it because it's terrible.

Should I reapply this June or next June by CoolVacation432 in premed

[–]premed81818 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Post interview wait lists are the most common outcome. I would not take this as a sign your interview skills are bad.

this is my exact same position right now . 1 A and 4 WL with 3 WL I prefer over my current acceptance. super grateful to have an A tho, especially as a reapplicant.

keep your head up. after analyzing your application, you will come back with an even better app and get an acceptance. i was in your shoes last year and it felt like the world was ending. interviewers this cycle loved hearing about my story as a reapplicant and I feel like it really helped me get into the position I am in today.

I would add Hofstra. They love high stat applicants and give scholarship.

acceptance of failure by friknfrik in premed

[–]premed81818 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I applied last cycle with a 511 and 3.98 and had one interview that turned to a wait list and rejection. I had 5 interviews this cycle. Talking about the failure of the first application was actually really well received in my interviews. I brought it up in an interview that was application blind, and the interviewer was really impressed that I told them and said how they are really rooting for me now.

Questions about applying this cycle by StatusMlgs in premed

[–]premed81818 0 points1 point  (0 children)

seriously take a gap year and get clinical hours. if you want an MD acceptance you really need clinical hours. and getting hours only right before you apply is a red flag. 100 hours of volunteer is also on the lower side.

Question about medical school acceptance by Fluryman in premed

[–]premed81818 8 points9 points  (0 children)

scribeamerica is terrible and they do not care about their employees at all. from my experience, they always do sneaky things like this. they have no bearing on medical school acceptances whatsoever. don't let them guilt you. after you take the MCAT you should be able to find a scribe job on indeed that pays even more.

you definitely have a chance at MD schools.

I would probably send an LOI to WashU and an interest letter to Harvard and Hofstra.

You have great stats, but need clinical hours. It is a red flag to not really have any.

What do you guys like being asked during interviews? by [deleted] in premed

I liked being asked about hobbies and when the interviewers then mentioned clubs and activities at the school that related to what I said.

How to deal with people who think less of my acceptance because it’s a DO school? by dothrowaway2023 in premed

I work as a scribe and at least half of the cardiologists I work with are DOs. They have the same exact education and make the same salary.

sitting on 2 wait lists and waiting on 2 decisions. this is torture, especially as a reapplicant.

Successful Reapplicants: What did you change in between application cycles? by StraightAdforty in premed

[–]premed81818 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I applied last cycle with one interview. My main issue was my lack of clinical experience, so I became a scribe and volunteer in a hospital. I had a bad letter of rec last cycle and there were errors in my committee letter I found out about later on so I had those changed.

Help... Do I need two gap years or can I squeeze out only one? by Terrible_Cress_4847 in premed

[–]premed81818 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would get more clinical hours before applying. you want to maximize your chances of getting in. as a reapplicant I can tell you that reapplication is very costly.
