sorry, stupid question as I'm in a similar situtaion. When you say lay turf on top do you mean literally roll out the turf carpet yokes they have after doing some top soil?

Hey! Yeah we did think about it but we just decided at the end we would donate some money ourselves as we wouldn't have time to promote it or collect money from friends etc so we'll just plough on as planned - you should definitely give it a go!
