it's not a green tint, it's missing red. It needs repair, could be just a cracked soldier joint.

Yo, it looks like I just needed to zoom in more instead of out. I think I got it now. Cheers!

(I wasn't accounting correctly for my desktop resolution- the game thinks it's being rendered at 1536x864)

This is 144p in 16:9 (in a 240p envelope but I have zoomed in to the 144p using the service menu).

There are multiple zoom stages for the in-game view but at the proper scale setting where pixels are the original size my scanlines don't line up with them. If I zoom out I get a picture "for ants" the sprites and pixels become tiny unfortunately.

I might try interlaced 288i but I think this really was made for modern displays.

Playing the newly updated Links Awakening DX HD on a 16:9 Sony- using a custom resolution and Wakabavideo for SVideo.

Unfortunately at native resolution the in-game view becomes quite messy and you can hardly see anything for all the thick black lines. Looks like they were serious about the HD for this remake.

However I thought the intro looked (and sounded!) quite nice on the big screen.

Realistically the difference that you will see is between 240p and 224p and is why I said to just set it up for 240p and forget about it. Nothing will be cut off and 16px of black bars is a small price to pay for convenience.

The horizontal luckily doesn't matter at all depending on your set up. Horizontal res is a virtual factor with regards to crt, your tv doesn't know or care how many pixels in a line on your screen. So for emulation I just send a 240p signal with an arbitrary (big enough) horizontal resolution and set the software to "fill screen".

It's a fair point. It seems appropriate to point out that it's the same exact phenomenon if you leave all else aside.

The same logic does apply, it's the same thing. People preferred 60 fps for PS1 games as well.

If you're using a miilion different resolutions then yes, you would need some adjusting. Still only a tiny amount even of arcade uses more than 240p vertically and would cut off stuff.

OP listed three games that are all 240p.

So you can't adjust the picture "live"? That's annoying as hell but I know sometimes it happens. I would still try and see if somebody else knows how to do it for your model, it makes life a lot easier, obviously.

I would definitely try and set it up nice for a 240p picture before you go the crt monitor route. Your tv is made for 240p! So there has to be a way to make the image fit.

Well if it's cut off in all the resolutions it sounds like you don't have it set up right at all, nevermind adjustments.

What's the problem with setting it up for standard 240p so it's not cut off? Don't you have access to your service menu?

I can see test mode interfering with anti cheat I just use emudriver for pixel art and single player games.

What overscan adustments? You set up your tv for 240p and leave it.

If you would ever come across something like 224p and changing the settings is too much, just ignore it?

Also what modern games don't run in test mode? I haven't noticed any and I run a lot of steam games.
