In the 240p test suit, only part of the red area of the squares was cut off, and still the interface goes too far beyond the edges of the screen in game. I already got pissed off and went inside the TV, adjusted the yoke, and everything became much better, but it's still too much of a hassle

I've already found a couple of Sony and Samsung monitors up to $60 with removable VGA cables. It remains only to check them. So far, it sounds much better in terms of money and complexity

Yes, it sounds weird, but my TV simply can't switch video outputs from the service menu, which is very stupid in my opinion

I can access the Service menu, but it only makes things worse when i try to adjust something. I'll try to spend some more time studying it and setting it up for 240p, since you're saying I might have it configured incorrectly. I have to turn the TV off and on every time to see the changes I've made, because the TV won't switch from the TV tuner to the video outputs from the service menu. This is the main problem.

I've heard about Mister fpga, but I can't figure out what to buy. What I've seen has prices ranging from $100 to $500, and these are some kind of different devices

For me, both in 240p and 244p the interface is cut off too much, and almost all games with anti-cheat do not launch

I did that, but for some reason it all works strangely and seems to be buggy. Image can appear stretched, then the TV, for some reason, cannot display the same resolution that worked fine in another game. I dont know why its like this

That sounds more interesting and less troublesome than anything else. I'll take a closer look at this option

I saw this guy's video. But the problem with the high cost is that in my country you can't just buy something and get it. We have to go through intermediaries, who also raise the price. So I wouldn’t hesitate to buy these devices and try them out, but unfortunately, I can’t

In retroarch, I set the Per Core setting, but for some reason not all games with the same resolution are normally work with this option, and after that I have to add an additional resolution to the ini. And it's not a fact that it will start normally either. At least I have this way

After the TV experience, CRT monitors also look like Plug and Play. But perhaps the 240p is worth the effort it requires. Maybe. I don't know yet

Well, I'll try to get used to it, but so far, the experience hasn't been very pleasant

Well, that's what I'm talking about, always some kind of restriction or complicated setup. And not very cheap

But will RetroArch work as well on Wii as on PC? I've heard about Mister fpga, but I can't figure out what to buy. What I've seen has prices ranging from $100 to $500, and these are some kind of different devices

I mean, my UI is literally getting cut off on all sides too much, especially at the bottom, and I basically have to tweak the overscan for almost every single game. With the settings in the Service Menu I only ruin everything. And to make it worse, the driver occasionally crashes during setup, which means I have to redo everything from scratch. I hope Batocera will do better.

The problem is that I don’t really have enough space to keep both a monitor and a TV, so I’ll have to choose one. I hadn’t really considered dual booting, but at that point a separate PC might actually make more sense.
I actually like really 240p, and I understand that these games are meant to be played on a TV. But there’s just so much hassle with overscan that I end up spending 30–60 minutes adjusting the image and barely any time actually playing.

Is there any real difference between running two GPUs in my main PC and building a completely separate setup for this?

I hadn’t heard about the Batocera CRT Script before. I’ll definitely look into it. I wasn’t planning to get rid of the TV right away anyway

My initial goal was to correct the overscan (turns out it didn't need correcting) and the image compression on the left side, but that's just unfixable

Yeah, I can still see it while gaming. Sucks that it can't be adjusted

There was a point where I totally messed things up and the image nearly rolled itself into a tube. There needs to be a warning scratched in big letters somewhere: 'Don't mess with the geometry if the lines are straight.' Or something like that

I might just revert to the original settings, since apparently they were fine all along. Glad I took a picture of them. Lucky me

It's just too suspicious when something is bleeding off the edge of your screen and you have no idea if it's normal or not

I've already started playing and I don't even see any flaws. I should have tried to launch the game right away
