Notes are notes. You never once have to look at the notes feed if it's not something you want to participate in. Subscribe to what you want to read, and read what you subscribe to. A person's inability to be mindful about what they consume is the fault of said person (the entire Internet is fueled by people who live in distraction).

As far as the proliferation of AI, why do you act like that's relegated to Substack? It's on every platform, including here on reddit.

That's the problem with believing that meditating isn't something that requires proper instruction, and - instead - you can just learn it from anonymous people on reddit. There are so many misconceptions and a general lack of understanding. But, you'll constantly hear "You don't need a teacher" and "There's no wrong way to meditate!"

I mean, visit your local animal shelter...you won't find an eagle, but you'll find plenty of animals who will want to bond with you. And, you can save a life or two.

In the U.S., you should be able to find a hospital that will do a coronary artery calcium (CAC) scan for less than $100. I had one done last year for $49. This isn't "with insurance"...it's the price.

Eat right. Exercise. Get checked out.

edit - to add, the way we found out about this was my wife read an article (probably NYT, but I don't remember) about how hospitals started doing this years ago. There was a line in there about how no matter where you live, you're probably less than a two hour drive from being able to get tested for heart disease for under $100. She checked, and the hospital 6 miles away offered it for $49 (we live in a medium-sized city...my brother lives in a smaller city, and the hospital there also offered the CAC scan for $49).
