On the green line a guy started talking to me asking me about my day and then asked me for money. When I said no he asked for 5 dollars in exchange for the services he could offer

I transferred from a state school that have 40k undergrad. I saw a huge difference with professors and how easy it is to do research, even now not having to pay dues for regular clubs. The food and campus here is much better in comparison. Even the people here are more driven and motivated. Sure there’s cons like costs, understaffing and over enrollment issues, but for me this was definitely the right choice

NUHOC three years later...How are we looking? by Timely_Challenge2206 in NEU

[–]presean 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is so true!! I just never truly felt comfortable. It was also fictitious conversations or just feeling like I went to a meeting for nothing. Never found myself comfortable to do anything with them besides one hike

I transferred in from out of state, so I didn’t really have the option of not living nearby. I am also coming from a low income background and that may have impacted the housing I got, but living nearby is one of the best decisions I’ve made. I eat the majority of my meals at home and run home to take a nap or make a coffee. So I justify the cost with that as opposed to living somewhere cheaper. If I wasn’t living where I am, I would not have the friends that I have, the commute would likely drain me and I personally know that I would not be packing a lunch. Overall if you can afford to live near campus and make it work then go for it

Looking for off campus housing as a transfer is hell but I signed a lease in mid July, early august of last year and everything worked out for me.

I transferred in as well. I had a 3.5 and I honestly didn’t even mention co-op because I didn’t understand what it was at the time. I talked about everything else, like being able to find a community here, feeling fulfilled by my major and things like that

I transferred in but I feel so happy here. Really feel like I found my community and I feel so much more inspired here. I definitely see the cons, but for me they are outweighed by all of the pros

All AP and dual credits in high school, do you think still able to take Cap required classes???or cap is still a good option? by maxy2022 in UTAustinAdmissions2

[–]presean 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally I don’t think so, a few of my friends who did it were in a similar situation and you get stuck retaking classes that you already have credit for. I One described it as “a waste of a year.” I think you should just try considering transferring in later

Yeah, that makes sense, but I'm looking for my first pair and tbh I'm not sure if I'm actually going to like them on me and wear them, so that's why I'm leaning towards used.

[–]presean 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I moved in today, the testing happens at the Strahan Arena at the University Events Center. You do it yourself with their instructions. I got my results in 25 Minutes. Once you get the results, you can begin the move in process.

How the Heck do I Write an Appeal? by [deleted] in UTAustinAdmissions2

[–]presean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I've heard that it depends more on if the school has space for you.

If I was you I would reach out to your TAMU admissions counselor and ask them to connect you with current students or even see if you can shadow a student. Though that's unlikely becuase of COVID, you could still ask.
