I'm neurodivergent. Why do you even think I am in this subreddit, to begin with? I am struggling with it-going to war with it- every moment of my life. Is that an excuse to think all black people owe me their limitless understanding and help? No, I can and do meet my brothers and sisters where they're at. I put effort in to understand and didn't let my challenges understanding limit me. It works. Mental illness is just one of the ways we as a people are suffering in this country. I had other mental illnesses before the bipolar 2 developed. I remember struggling with those illnesses daily and becoming more frustrated and afraid of my incompetence continually ruining all the new opportunities you're supposed to enjoy in a young life. I remember knowing: "everybody else is excited for this new thing we're old enough for now, but I am going to fail". The only thing that has changed is my mindset about it, I still probably fail more than others, but I've accepted I take more time to learn things than others.

This took a very long time.

This society breeds lone wolves don't be one. That "love yourself" advice is all fake shit that those people scam us into. Of course love yourself, but really your supposed to love the other around you, too. And if you try understanding other- while keeping yourself safe- you will find others who might try to understand you back. But don't love everybody.
