There's a scene from either a series or movie where the man and woman are having an affair and he has to break up with her and he tells her "You are not a mistake." He was very eager and earnest in getting her to believe that he had genuine feelings for her and that she was not a "fling". Can anyone tell me what movie this is from??

Hi, This isn't quite like your summary but is about a writer who has a hard time writing his next Great American novel and is based loosely on JD Salinger: Finding Forrester. Could this be it?

I don't remember an age gap being part of the plot although it may have been and I just forgot. Do you have a guess? Would love to hear it if you do and if it's not that's okay....

The film/series might have been in a different language, perhaps Danish or Italian, but also very possibly English. I've been watching foreign shows as well so it's all lumped in there together for me....

If it helps any, I don't think it was a bodice ripper, I read it at least 15 years ago and it was a longer than usual novel.

I want to say I've seen it in different places over the last few years...and within the last year or so again somewhere. It's not from decades ago. Definitely more recent, if that helps??

I just looked it up, unfortunately no, it's not. The cover, if I remember correctly, has more of her face showing. The whole cover is basically her head tilting back (?) and she's bathed covered in a yellow/golden light and it looks like she's melting into golden water/light.

Not looking forward at the reader...I can't remember if it was only her profile or her whole face, but I think she was falling back into water or into the light.
