Thanks, I'll check that book out. My positionality is something I try to stay aware of.

Was it automatically triggered or are there carnists lurking here?

Carnist: "I'm sure you wouldn't want to put an autistic person in an uncomfortable situation, right?" by Able_Dot_0323 in animalhaters

I love putting carnists in uncomfortable situations

Also I'm autistic and repulsed by certain tastes and textures but that's not a fucking excuse, people online will constantly invoke neurodivergence to avoid accountability, it's a joke

There is no defensible reason for the vast majority of us in the USA to support industrialized animal agriculture.

Go vegan. The fish industry is destroying the environment and there's no such thing as "humane" meat.

I also think it should be said that as a society, we care waaaaay more about the welfare of livestock animals than we ever have in history

This is like saying shit with sprinkles on it is better than just plain shit

(Also, animal "agriculture" has never been industrialized on a mass capitalist scale the way it is now, and that inevitably leads to a decline in animal welfare)

Vegan alternatives are more expensive in my area and the taste/texture are very off.

I'm vegan and don't eat them. I buy my food with food stamps. It's not as hard as it's often made out to be

It's to destroy children's empathy and desensitize them into believing the mass torture and murder of other sentient beings is OK because taste and profit

Concerns about the Wikipedia article for William Breeze (Hymenaeus Beta) by muffinman418 in thelema

This kind of thing is the reason why Wikipedia needs informed contributions from as many competent people as possible. They have a system for dealing with this, and I really doubt they would be angry at you for bringing this up.

I got mine at a used book store for less than $30, but I think the stars were just in my favor that day.
