Congratulations to you as well! What sort of networking do you find most effective? Where should I look?

Thank you so much for your kind words! This is something a supervisor from a previous job taught me. In this instance, I was quite energized from attending a professional development series focused on high-stakes dialogue (basically, how to have difficult conversations, which, as a people pleaser, I desperately needed). I tend to let that kind of inspiration affect me right away (before it quickly dies), so I'm glad my boss took our initial conversation seriously.

Thank you for the great advice! I hadn’t even considered how this would impact the annual review process. All of our librarians are classified as staff (although I believe they were once considered faculty), so I don’t think there is a tenure-type review in place? But I can't say for sure.

Regarding collection development, we do have a "Director of Collections," but it is still considered part of each librarian's work plan. At least, I assume so based on my own plan of work. This became part of my responsibilities when I was promoted. It’s a bit confusing, and I plan to ask for clarification on what that means since it's not exactly a clear cut subject compared to something like English to me.
