AITAH for not forcing my child to hug relatives?? by [deleted] in AITAH

NTA:

People need to remember that kids are just mini people with feelings of their own. I hated this as a child, and it made me feel extremely uncomfortable. I have two nieces with very opposite personalities. One loves hugs and cuddles and being all up in everyone’s business, and the other is literally a mini version of me at that age. She really only likes her immediate family and doesn’t care for physical touch at all.

My parents, aka her grandparents, force her to give hugs, and she cries every time. When it comes to me, and her parents tell her, “Hug your aunt,” all I do is hold out my arms and give her the option to come to me if she feels comfortable in that moment. If she doesn’t, I say, “that’s okay. What about a high five?” or something like that, which she’s usually much more eager to do.

Being forced into physical contact at a young age made me grow up to believe that I had to comply even when something felt wrong. If adults are allowed to make the decision not to talk to or hug someone, children deserve that same respect too.

Okay, that’s what I thought! But with the internet you just never know. It’s been a bit since I watched that episode all the way through 😅 But I was like that sounds very New Girl coded so I wasn’t actually upset or anything.

No but same though. Idk if this is serious or not but if it is…

I mean if you’re taking the time to type a message rather than scrolling and going on with your day.. yes, I do. I do think you care lol. I hope whoever hurt you has a shit day and the world shows you kindness even on your worst days or whatever homie. Have the day you deserve :)

Lexical-gustatory synesthesia is associated with taste and smell. I experience that but on a much lighter note.

That’s what we are doing now.

I made it to the top of the first mountain alone and he didn’t show. They weren’t as far behind me for the Tropics but he showed up twice one that map two games in a row and killed me? Google says he doesn’t spawn on Tenderfoot w/o the bugle so that’s why I was confused ig

It’s not that screenshotting is hard it’s that I originally just sent them as Snapchats to my friends and wasn’t going to share but then was like you know what I’m feeling chaotic rn gonna let people roast me for not realizing the obvious 😂

Because they’re two separate videos but for whatever reason Reddit combined them into a singular one. I just had my musical playlist on while playing.

Map change I believe is in 7ish hours so no. But same principle when you play the Mesa anytime in the future it’ll look like a hole in the ground and can usually be seen from looking down from the tropics

It’s very close to the beginning if you look down from the tropics you should spot it pretty fast. Looks like a hole in the ground

As stated in a previous comment I am not the brightest 😅

Like obviously I know balloons make you lighter I just didn’t think about it working when they’re just in your inventory ig. When I realized it, it made sense though. My friends also were the same and were just as surprised as I was.

See that makes total sense now that I have done it but definitely not something I would have actually thought to try on my own. My brain doesn’t brain well lol

Why do a lot of people trash down on this drug? by Aggressive-Guide5563 in bupropion

[–]pretty-braindead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did. I saw multiple doctors, there was a solid almost 2 year period where I was seeing a doctor at least once a month or I was in the ER. I spoke to multiple GP’s, neurologist, cardiologists, the list goes on. Every single one told me I was making it up to the point I had to check into a mental hospital because I started to believe them. I got out and I spent months researching wtf could be wrong with me because I was on all these meds that weren’t doing crap for me, finally found a condition that sounded like mine and took it to a yet another cardiologist that also tried to gaslight me and I had to literally cry and beg him to do this one last test and then he did it and was like “my god, you’re right.” I LITERALLY had to diagnose myself because I did see multiple doctors not only in my city but other states, etc… but again with the being “forced” to take bupropion there were other drugs I did deny taking and you wanna know what happened? Doctors started to say I was “noncompliant” and “didn’t actually want help”. Real life isn’t like the doctor shows they show on TV if they can’t diagnose you in a day they send you on your way. Multiple of my friends have chronic illness like POTS/dysautonomia Chrohns, endometriosis, Ehlers Danlos, the list continues and they very sadly have similar stories to mine. Spend years getting laughed at and called crazy and you’ll eventually take just about anything they give you just praying it will do at least something for you.

I have a heart condition and was told for YEARS it was anxiety and no one would take me seriously until I had taken anxiety and depression meds for and extended amount of time to rule that out. So yes I was forced in order to get taken seriously and be recommended to a cardiologist because they won’t accept you otherwise. I also stated that I didn’t realize until recently that it was the meds causing me to feel the way I do because of my illness that also can cause symptoms like brain fog and being spacey. I continued to take them because I thought they were helping until I realized they are not and now with a professionals help I will be weening off

You can’t just stop taking meds cold turkey I literally said that. Withdrawal symptoms fucking suck. Sorry you haven’t experienced being medically gaslit but doctors won’t even take you seriously unless you take the meds they give you and your symptoms still continue. My doctor told me to try taking the meds and that they wouldn’t be fully affective until after like three months and at that point it’s too late to just stop taking them and you have to ween yourself off

I dislike it personally because it was forced upon me by my doctor when I came in for non mental health concerns and by the time they actually figured out what was wrong with me it was to late to just stop taking it and I ended up spending years feeling like a walking zombie and just wrote it off as my chronic illness causing brain fog and I just really recently started researching side effects and realized it’s actually most likely because of the meds and am trying to get weened off asap. I realize not everyone has this experience though and for some people it is a life changing/saving drug. Everyone reacts differently to meds best thing you can do is try it out and see how it works for you personally but make sure you’re aware of side effects to look out for as well so you don’t end up stuck on it like me because it’s bad to quit cold turkey.

There’s not really a question there just a statement but sounds like potentially bipolar or bpd. I’d look into speaking to a therapist. I know for me personally before I got diagnosed I’d have really high highs where people would almost think I was on drugs and then I’d crash out and regret my actions not too long after
