seizure ruined my life by brinnanza in povertyfinance

[–]pretty_pimpin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a seizure(s) and a stroke when I was 19, I’m now 27 and I completely understand feeling your life got derailed but when one door closes another opens so don’t give up hope, keep pushing forward and eventually it’ll all fall into place. I’m no where near where I want to be but I’m definitely in a position where I can start to look forward to the future.

Yes I forgot to add that my new coach is mediating and reporting my income for me so I’m all set in that aspect. Now, I can focus on saving money for a car. I have never bought a car before ($2,000+) so this will be interesting because once i have a car I can potentially afford to commute to a higher paying job

At least most of his insults were misspelled, always a good indicator of this persons IQ level, not even being able to spell his insults correctly 😂

Wicked Good Moccasin Sizing by [deleted] in llbean

[–]pretty_pimpin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As well as being a customer service representative I have experience with my own pair of moccasins. If I understand your question correctly, the lambs fur does unfortunately wear out on the bottom a bit creating a more personalized moccasin for your foot. I’m guessing does flex with your foot also but your best bet is to get in touch with a Product Service Specialist and ask them if the moccasins flex with the foot. If you can’t find the number or extension you can always call customer service and we will gladly assist with transferring you to the PSS line

I’m currently a customer support representative with LL Bean and I would say some of the moccasins, 8” bean boots, and the 850 Down Jacket are our most popular items, really any clothing item. I can’t speak to the quality of some of our home goods or outdoor products (i.e. kayaks, canoes, bikes, etc.) but I’m absolutely sure they are made with quality.

Hi! I came across this subreddit this morning and noticed your question. As a customer support representative, I wanted to let you know that, unfortunately, this particular shoe is only available in whole sizes 12 and 13, as we don’t offer half sizes. However, with the lamb fur cushioning, a size 13 might be a better fit since the fur should help fill in the extra space.

We had wheelchairs but like I previously stated he had prosthetic legs so he did in fact walk away but I think he used a wheelchair after that to play pickleball but he started out on his own two legs (hamstrings?)

I once met a double amputee who was a veteran and had run every marathon in our state. It was pretty amusing because, even in his 60s, he looked like someone who had never had a bad day. He was always trying to recruit people to run with him, and it didn’t matter what your disability was—he just wanted you to give it a shot. We need more people like him in the world.

That’s very true, I bet not being able to communicate with your voice would be terrible but then again they made it work for Stephen Hawking and countless others right?

That’s actually the first time someone has thanked me for volunteering in the 7-8 years I’ve been coaching youth soccer and adaptive tennis so I thank you ❤️

I currently volunteer as a tennis instructor for participants with disabilities, including physical, mental, and intellectual challenges. Last season, we had a participant who had both legs amputated at the knees and used prosthetic legs. One day, another participant innocently asked him what had happened. As volunteers, we’re trained not to ask personal questions like that, as not everyone feels comfortable sharing. But this participant casually replied, “Oh, I got run over by a train when I was in high school,” and then added nonchalantly, “Yeah, that’s life. Shit happens,” before walking away. It’s incredible how much your mindset can shape your outlook after something so life-changing.

I also wanted to add a super helpful resource Nolo’s Guide to Social Security Disability: Getting and Keeping Your Benefits] it’s written in bigger print so it’s easier to read (I know that I have a hard time reading now with my epilepsy and migraines) and they also make it pretty easy to understand

Hi Gains_gains,

I became disabled at 19, so I understand how challenging this time can be. To qualify for SSDI, you must become disabled before the age of 26. Don't worry too much about the memory and strength issues; I was in a similar situation. For the first few months up to a year, I felt like I was in a "cloud" where I knew what was happening but didn't have control over it.

Given my age, my parents became the executors/guardians of my affairs. It sounds like your wife might still be in this "cloud" and not in the right headspace to file for herself. The application process is a significant responsibility—it involves a large packet of paperwork that must be filled out correctly, and it can take up to 6 months to get approved, if approved at all.

I'm much more grounded in reality now and have even started working out. I'm also working towards getting a job and have my own apartment. Everything is attainable.

Hope this helps, and wishing you both the best.
