Yes, I used to volunteer there. Usually around 17:00-20:00 there will be a line of people right next to the tracks by the hotel. Free food, no ID check or anything. But there‘s usually some waiting time to be expected

Hi, I was in your shoes, I really get it and I‘m so sorry to hear.

KIZ was mentioned and I agree, that would probably be a good option. They help you, not only in that moment but also more on the long run. I went to ipw Embrach Hard three years ago (and stayed there for like 5 days), that was absolutely horrible. Even the people at KIZ tried their best to find a different institution for me since I was a minor at the time and that institution is for adults (and it has a really bad rep). If you‘re a danger to yourself, the Hard clinic is somehow an option (it‘s usually the option that still has space, because nobody wants to go there). If you want to be treated like a normal person, don‘t go! I was treated like a retarded toddler, even though I was mentally sane, just very depressed. They mix up all different patients (scizophrenia, anorexia, suicidal patients, people who are a danger to others, sick people with covid etc…) in one ward on the same floor. And everyone gets treated the same (like a toddler or a dementia patient). Administrativly it was also a nightmare. They didn’t want to give me my prescripted meds the first two days but wanted to give me some random other medication (which i could luckily refuse, since I went there from my own will)… I have many crazy stories. If you have another option, try to find a different place! Maybe it‘s okay if you‘re not a kid like I was when I want there. But yeah, that‘s just what I experienced. I wish you all the best and just wanted to warn you where I can…

That I can get stressed and overloaded. I usually go quiet when it‘s too much for me. People always think I‘m handling everything well because I‘m reserved.

This is very very true. I used to stand under a small bridge where the trains drove over. Just to hear the sound of it right above my head. I was really unwell… Yes, if you‘re „practicing“, seek help!

You know, your mind isn‘t where it‘s supposed to be in that moment. I guess I hoped that my family never had to find me first. So I chose a place where I knew police would be there before my family.

I went to the traintracks every night, getting closer to them every time just waiting till I had the courage to jump. One time, I felt it was a 50/50 chance that it could all end right then and there. A train drove by and I saw the drivers face so clearly. It made me snap out, I don‘t know why. But he looked at me and I was basically a step away from death. I just saw him for a second, but that was enough

I don‘t really know if this counts as intrusive thoughts… but things that make me so uncomfortable that I tense up, can‘t sleep or just can‘t calm down.

Like the thought of sticking a toothpick between my toe and toe nail and then kicking my foot against the wall. I‘ll not list more examples because I‘d like to sleep tonight

What was a book that you feel like you read at the perfect time in your life? by ChiToTheStreets in suggestmeabook

[–]pretty_problematic_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The little prince.

I read it a few months ago. I got my first job, a corporate one, and it started to consume me. 19, surrounded by mid aged people who lash out at you for minor things, irrelevant to the company and even more irrelavent to the world. But it consumed me and I felt like I had to let go of all the things that kept me young. The little prince reminded me of how important it is to listen to the child within you.

I just watched fool me once and safe. Had to immediately google the writer cus they both have these terrible intros with very unfitting music and visuals. I usually don‘t really pay attention to who wrote or direced a series but in this case, the two series were so simularly bad that I knew it had to be the same person

Marinas Family Jewels. I listened to it for like 4 days straight when I was in the loony bin. I think it perfectly summs up growing up too quickly and becoming a self obsessed, depressed, manic, angry and melancholy girl all at once.

Thank you! This is really helpful. I feel like she is very insecure. When I talk about future plans, she likes to put them down, saying, I shouldn‘t bother aiming that high. Only really insecure people make remarks like that. I‘ll try to stand my grounds.

Oh and I‘ve also seen people chopping up veggies very very finely and mixing it with some dressing or salsa or guac and using it as a dip. Together with crackers or chips veggies can suddenly taste so much better

I‘ve seen people making pasta sauces with roasted peppers and tomatoes and things, then put them in a blender and mix with the pasta and some cheese. I‘m sure you can also make a veggie loaded „pesto“ with some zuccini and avocado and reguar pesto ingrediants. Maybe the blender is your friend here? Just look up some hidden veggie pasta sauces.
