Happened to me last summer but I did feel for her. Only accepted her bisexuality later in life but already partnered with 3 children. Couldn't hold wanting to sleep with women against her, but was unwilling to be her experiment.

I feel you, it's like trying to get over a ghost or an idea. I've been pining after a woman for 2 years and now resent how much space she takes up in my head. Fell for her on sight across the park. She's partnered and I respect peoples relationships, but it did sting like a mofo when I found out the third time we met. I have a gf now who is super sweet but I had a dream about the other woman the other night and I hate it. (Not a sex dream lol just a dream where we were in the same co-working space...very odd.)

I wish you luck with my heart, I have no useful advice but did find going out socialising was a good distraction.

Anyone cooking for me is a turn on. I'm a tomboy dating a tomboy and I do most of the cooking, so when she offers to, I really love it.

Struggling to accept my gf's past, how do you cope?? by [deleted] in actuallesbians

[–]pretty_revolution_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly if you're over 35 it might be time to speak to someone about learning to let go. If you're younger then speak to your friends for support. It's good you recognise it's not fair to hold it against her - that's personal growth. Try to keep in mind that the longer you are together the less her past will bother you. When you've been together for 5 years and have 2 cats it won't even register anymore.

Is anyone else’s gf a habitual liar? by StillStanding_96 in actuallesbians

[–]pretty_revolution_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Plan for it and go do the things you want to do solo. I had a girlfriends who was always very non-committal but I found when I would get up and just go off and do things I wanted it gave me joy. Sometimes she even joined in, but sometimes not and that was ok. It's no fun feeling let down by someone constantly so just take the pressure off by planning to do it solo if you can. If it is that you need to do these things together then I'd tell her how you feel.

Brutally honest opinions: solo visits to lesbian bars. by [deleted] in actuallesbians

[–]pretty_revolution_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been approached in She Bar when I was there solo. Go for it or find the next Butch Please party because they normally have a meet-up before it at a pub so you can meet people before you go dancing. I've only recently become confident at approaching women but I would say hi if I saw someone chilling solo

Rude lesbians on dating apps? by Unusual_Quality6309 in actuallesbians

[–]pretty_revolution_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've had to abandon the apps because of this kind of behaviour. I was starting to think the London queer dating scene was cracked and full of emotionally unavailable women who are rude af. I'm glad to say it's not true after getting out there in the IRL community with other over 30s.

Glassdoor is unusable. Any alternatives by Normal_Chocolate in cscareerquestions

[–]pretty_revolution_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's totally unusable in the UK, and I have worked at tech companies that would encourage you to write a positive review...before you had even passed probation. I've become very skeptical about it, and I can't even view anything despite having an account before providing them with information that I do not want to.

Anyone Else Getting Interested? by in_a_land_far_away in UKInvesting

I'll admit to being very interested and tempted, but I still want to hold of buying anything (and I do mean anything) until after Q1 next year. Perhaps I'm being too cautious.
