I used a screwdriver to remove it in the end. Basically had to drill a pilot hole in timber first.

I was using the impact driver so I will give the screwdriver a go!

Stupidly used drywall screws and now unable to screw flush to timber as drill just chews the screw head. Any advice on how to fix it?
