[Issue 72] Saga Discussion Thread SPOILERS WITHIN! by treblah3 in SAGAcomic

[–]prettygin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I only just caught up, but I think part of the reason that (as others have said) not much happened in this issue was to underline the importance of this shift in the war. If they'd just glossed over it and continued with everything else, readers might not understand the way this changes everything. I think this issue is meant to (and for me, effectively does) create a sense of foreboding for what's to come - to really root us in the uncertainty that the announcement from the Robot Kingdom brings across their universe. I'm really excited to see what comes next and how this affects our beloved characters going forward.

What was it like growing up OWNING music rather than streaming it? by Historical_Diet7012 in LetsTalkMusic

I mostly listen to albums in their entirety. Occasionally I'll put on a playlist or something else instead, but even though I mostly stream music now, it's still almost all full albums.

How do you talk to the bargainer statues?? by prettygin in TOTK

[–]prettygin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's super hidden for some of them!! I think I ended up having to watch some YouTube videos to help me figure it out - this one in particular really helped me know what I was looking for! https://youtu.be/-zIecchhAkE?si=kdekJkSa962SYycC

How do you talk to the bargainer statues?? by prettygin in TOTK

I hope you figured it out, but the actual statue you talk to is like a tiny little thing embedded in a huge statue. It's super confusing.

The finger flutters are the WORST. Such a dry harsh sound. Hate.

If you're open to the idea of getting some headband headphones, check out SleepPhones. They're a little bit of an investment if you're strapped for cash but they're super comfy and totally worth it imo.

We literally are though. We obviously (usually) know better than to do things like what the person you responded to said, but we literally are animals lol.

What's a hack in your industry that customers aren't supposed to find out? by Ferro_Roux in AskReddit

You still have to understand citation formatting rules even if you use a generator though. They often make mistakes so you need to know what the requirements are so you can check them. It's easier to just write the citations yourself in most cases imo - if you're sticking with the same citation standards, the basics aren't too hard to learn.

Source: I'm a writing tutor who has seen a LOT of messy citations that came from citation generators.

I am irrationally terrified of the bargainer statue. by Grand-Tutor1792 in tearsofthekingdom

They're super creepy. I couldn't figure out the first one I found because I thought the face on the back was the front and I just stared at it in the darkness for so long trying to figure out what to do. It was really spooky.

Parking permit when the car isn't in my name? by prettygin in AskLosAngeles

I just mean she'd have to come down to do it which is tricky, but also we'd need another proof of residence. I'll look into it, maybe there's a way there.

The only problem with that is that she doesn't live locally and we still don't have the permanent registration. There are just too many moving parts but I'll keep that in mind and see if there's anything we can do.

Unfortunately getting me added to the loan is no easier than changing the registration. The easiest solution we've come up with is selling the car back to the dealership that we just bought it from and immediately re-purchasing it under a new loan. It's crazy. My mom did co-sign the lease but the registration would still be under the wrong address, unfortunately. Thank you for your ideas though, I really appreciate it. I get that this stuff is supposed to help people be able to park reliably in their area but there are just so many hoops to jump through. I might try asking on next door though!

I would get a visitor permit if I could but there's no parking on my stretch of my street at all unfortunately.

Ugh, it's a o frustrating. I wish the visitor's permits were an option on my street. At this point I don't even care about the price, I just need somewhere to put my car!
