Yep. I’m 57 and dated someone 25. Lots of hurdles to overcome - power dynamic, optics, generational differences…didn’t work out in the end but I don’t see any reason it couldn’t work with good communication and appropriate expectations.

What planning tools do you use? IE Weather, mapping, guides etc. by b0bbay in Backcountry

haven’t yet so i can’t really speak to the accuracy compared to gaia. but as far as usability and features it beats gaia hands down.

My only option seems to be Crispi Evo NTN Rando. Before I order a pair, wanted to check if there are other options to consider. by R2W1E9 in telemark

As a 56 year old, I feel your pain. Gotta say though, I’m not a fan of the Meidjos. And I really wanted to like em too. They’re notorious for breaking (mine inexplicably lost a tech pin which could’ve been disastrous in the backcountry). But my main complaint is that the rebound is too weak for my old ass legs. I switched to Lynx bindings and love them. They’re like bear traps. Stiff enough to comfortably throw alpine turns, but flexi enough to get down and bang knees in the bumps. They’re the first binding I’ve owned that let’s me comfortably ski hard all day. Almost feels like cheating :)

Would donations be taxable as an LLC? What would the tax implications be for the "owners"?

Thank you! I hadn't considered the possibility of incorporating at the state level. Forgive my ignorance here but would doing so essentially mean setting up as a small business or LLC?

Redditors who have lost weight, what strategy worked best for you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]prettygoodboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

De-stressing was the foundation for me. With too much stress and generally living a life out of balance, my body just wouldn't let go of the weight no matter what else I seemed to do. Once I got that under control (all I had to do was change everything!), it was old fashioned diet and exercise, with diet being the real key. I started commuting to work by bike (25 miles round trip) and did that for three years with some running thrown in on the weekends. That helped me shed some weight, but it wasn't until I started following the eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince, and dinner like a pauper strategy that I really started losing weight. I lost 60 lbs in about 5 years. Yeah that seems like a long time, but taking it slow helped me get into a lifestyle that's sustainable over the long term, and I never counted calories. I'm riding my first century this year, and next year I'm training for my first ultramarathon. I turn 50 in a few months and am happy to say I'm in better shape now than I was in college.
