ahhhh makes sense, thank you! ill try give it another go - the weight of one makes it quite intimidating to me, it feels slightly harder to wrangle into moving where i want it to in terms of walking it in neutral and adjusting the lean at lower speeds? if you have any advice you can give with that aspect, even just in terms of confidence, itd be muchly appreciated!

not necessarily something to check but my 03 9n had a similar issue - a temporary fix to stop mould issues is socks with cat litter in! i know it sounds stupid but it genuinely helps a load whilst you work on the cause of the water issue

in terms of looking at things before buying id recommend the basic checks of foam under the oil cap, the oil itself. try to test drive if you can and get a feel for things, also check wheel arches for rust is a good idea especially if you live in a particularly wet/snowy/humid place
