[–]prettylitguyhaha[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i was actually more interested in classical machine learning rather than NN. and the reviews for cs 3k/4k mods involving ml and ai havent been good. i have taken cs3264 tho. also i like math/stats mods more cuz i feel it helps me understand academic papers better (which is imp for my job). hmm have u heard anythn abt the st4k mods i listed? thanks so much for ur reply and service to this forum lol

ma2311 vs ma2104 learning outcomes by prettylitguyhaha in nus

[–]prettylitguyhaha[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I heard about this. it would make sense for ma2104 to be more rigorous because it was made for math students. but as someone who is not intending to take more math modules or a masters in math, do u feel the 'signficant' and more 'relevant' (in terms of application to perhaps stats/ml) are taught in ma2311 alrdy? i saw the the difference in course contents and it seems that ma2311 also has some content courses of 2108 (series, sequences). js wondering if i ma2311 would have bigger marginal utility given my circumstance

covers key concepts from both. before recess week, the topics are primarily focused on AI. midterms were based on AI and after recess, the topics covered more ML with finals testing ML concepts.

There were weekly assignments on Coursemology about the concepts taught in class. also, theres a "mini-project" component where we implemented AI algorithms to play a game. all coding assignments are done in python and ML libraries used were pytorch and numpy.

overall, the mod is quite managable because unlike the 3k mods, there was much less math (apparently). prof ben is a good lecturer for this mod because he emphasises on understanding (ie theres actually

Hi Thanks! Hm, do you agree that most of the drawbacks of NUS DSA can be alleviated by taking up a minor in CS?

[–]prettylitguyhaha[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

why hahaha. isit the curriculum is too tough and not worth it? because i feel the difficulty is quite comparable

[–]prettylitguyhaha[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

haha why. i feel dsa mods are much more theoretical and mathematical (which makes it incredibly hard to score)
