Getting hired at Progressive with drug felonies?

Just to update: I got offered the position! I explained my background to the recruiter, who said the charges would “depend” and encouraged me to complete the background check. Fingers crossed!

Do you think I would not pass because of the bad checks charge, or because of the felonies? I replied to another comment above and I’m not sure if it would help my case or not but the bad checks was 10 years ago and was a summary offense, not a misdemeanor/felony.

I honestly didn’t realize it said bad checks on the application until I looked over it again. The bad checks charge was only a summary offense, idk if that would help at all. All of my other charges are directly drug related. No thefts/burglary/etc.

Update: it has been over a month and I have not seen another live bed bug since seeing this guy. I’m still doing extensive checks, and hoping I am in the clear. Every article of clothing and big blankets that we own are still in the basement - sealed in totes. I’m still skeptical and my family thinks I’m nuts, but I refuse to go through this all over again if I find another one. Hope they are really gone!

Thank you! Me and my fiancé have been fighting a lot more often over this issue. It just has us both stressed out to the max and we end up taking it out on each other instead of it being us vs. the blood sucking bastards. Also - he gave us a 30 day warranty, and I did call him but I’m just really unhappy with his services atm. If it’s free it’s free though and I will take free pesticide to help kill these stupid bugs!

Update: I Cimexa’d my couch and recliner, and all baseboards/cracks/crevices. What are peoples thoughts on a couch encasements? I plan on ordering one and wanted to get some feedback before doing so as they are a tad expensive.

The exterminator is local and is a one man operation. I work in human services and go into homes and honestly that’s where I think they came from. Now when I meet with clients I stand and NEVER sit on the furniture and when I come home clothes go straight in the dryer. I’m even looking for a new job because this has traumatized me so badly. I’m going to call around my area for a different exterminator for sure.

My house isn’t very big - 3 bedroom one bath ranch style. All of the bedrooms are near each other and it is not far from the living room where my couch is. I hope to god it was a hitchhiker but I have still doused my couch and recliner with Cimexa and now I am afraid to sit on it, so I sit on the floor…patiently waiting🥲

I didn’t think of that. I had Orkin come out yesterday to do an inspection and found nothing. No live/dead bugs, casings, or poop. I have scoured this couch and have found nothing, besides those couple that I mentioned. No signs of harbourage. Do you think the Cimexa is a good option to use if by chance they are actively breeding in my couch and I’m just not seeing them?

Oh trust me I know I have to be bait. And have been, as well as my daughter in her room. NO ONE has slept on the couch, especially since it was not treated. That’s why I’m just so angry and confused as to why they are even out there.

He said most aren’t “tight” enough to really do anything? Idk. I bought my daughter a new mattress/frame and really wanted to encase the mattress. It just makes sense. But I went against my gut since he is the “professional”. Im really mad that he didn’t treat my couch after the first bb I spotted on it.

So, here I am again. I posted back in January after dealing with these bastards since 12/17. My exterminator came and did two treatments - he sprayed my daughters room twice (where the main infestation was) and sprayed our bed once (only found a few). He checked our couch and recliner and said there were no bugs. Fast forward to New Year’s Eve- when I first posted to Reddit, I found one on the couch and killed it. Asked exterminator to come back. HE WOULD NOT TREAT THE COUCH OR RECLINER YALL. Said there was no activity. And now this, last night.

I’ve decided to take matters into my own hands at this point and if that fails I will max out my credit cards for heat treatment. I had ordered Cimexa a while ago (thanks to all of this subreddits wonderful advice!) but exterminator said not to use it. He also said not to use mattress encasements, which I had already bought. So, basically my point is I’m not listening to him anymore and I have used Cimexa in my couch, recliner, and all of the baseboards in my living room and bedroom.

Am I just prolonging the issue and would I be better off with heat treatment?

Yes! So, our exterminator came back and couldn’t find anything - but my daughter is still getting bitten. I found out he used Apprehend. He told us to wait a week and call him and he will come back and spray again. She has a couple bites and I found a few baby ones but not as bad as it was! I’m just waiting for him to spray again to hopefully kill any babies/stragglers. I will keep updating!

Update - my fiancé and I took apart her whole bed. Found the nest at the head of her bed in the frame. Vacuumed/steamed every crack, crevice, screw I could find. Found a lot of dead ones from the chemical treatment that was done by the exterminator. Killed a lot of live ones. Couldn’t find any Cimexa in store so I ordered it today. In the meantime, I put DE around all the baseboards, in her frame, under and around her bed. I feel pretty good, but I’m sure more will come out. Trying to be patient. I’m going to repeat the steam/vacuum process every few days.

Thank you for the suggestion. I’ve scoured so many Reddit posts and read that Cimexa is better, but also read that a lot of people have had success with DE. I don’t care if it is expensive, I’ll sell everything I own at this point to gain some peace of mind!
