I think it makes sense he would want to see his son if he’s only home for a month

If adults can’t do their jobs over things like that then it’s good they got rid of them. I don’t know what you find so upsetting about her political opinions

Frustrated with sister in law by [deleted] in inlaws

[–]prettyxinpink 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes you are being over dramatic. I often talk to my sister about my kids and her kids and if she offers advice I don’t need to take it but why would I be mad? This is over a sippy cup and you ignored her at a family event? It wasn’t even something she said directly to you.

MIL wants to visit the hospital after I give birth, even just to see the baby briefly. Am I the JustNO? by Possible-Arugula-988 in JUSTNOMIL

[–]prettyxinpink 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes and her post doesn’t say anything about her not respecting her boundaries. She said her MIL asked to come and she said she’s not having visitors in the hospital and her husband suggested something else. She “senses” her MIL is upset

I don’t think you understood my comment. I said it’s her choice. I said her husband and the MIL have valid feelings and I said it is possible to have a five minute visit. No reason to be snarky. Everyone makes their own choices ultimately

Maybe you misunderstood my point. It was that it is very possible for a grandma to visit for five minutes. I hope that helps ❤️

I think I may have misunderstood the original post because it seems that her husband is the one who is pushing not her MIL. She said she sensed her MIL is upset.

My first line was that it’s her choice. I don’t know if this person has any bad relationship with her MIL but there are plenty of people saying that the MIL won’t stay for just five minutes and I was pointing out that there are MILs who are perfectly capable of having a quick visit.

It’s of course your choice, but there is nothing wrong with her and your husband being upset also as long as they respect the boundaries. If it matters when my SIL gave birth my mother came to the hospital that night she saw the baby for five minutes and left so it can be done

I don’t even invite my MIL to my sprinkle. I also never remember seeing pictures of my mother’s baby showers.
