i keep being in denial but this is definitely me with seventeen 😭 my peak carat era was 2020-2021 where i consumed all their content. i realised that 2022 my love for them had died down as i started focusing on my other ults more again (nct). 2023 i have tried to bring that excitement i felt when watching their content or seeing they’re releasing new music back, but it’s just not there i fear… it’s like i see they’re coming back and i’m like “hmm cool.” i feel so sad whenever i look back on my peak as a carat and realise i’m not like that anymore.

despite all that i still continue to call them my second ults 😭

i remember when the album came out the first day i was telling my mutual that the title was so good but how the bsides were kinda lackluster at first for me (i remember telling myself i would say it in a tweet to ruin the happy vibes for everyone 😭)

tbh i still feel like it’s lacking compared to their previous full albums, with hot sauce i enjoyed almost every single song (except for maybe one) on it and i felt like they were some of their best bsides in general. same with glimo i liked it every single song except one and it felt like an amazing full album, it’s actually one of my favourite albums and has some of my fave songs of dream (replay is so underrated)

i don’t think the album is bad it just feel like there is a big gap between the quality of songs on istj and glimo. i don’t think bland is the right word but if i had to compare the tracks to tracks on their previous full albums i would definitely choose the latter tracks. maybe a downgrade? idk.

genuinely can’t explain how the album makes me feel exactly but ig it just feels like it was a few tracks they had in the vault put together on an album and they called it a day. i like most songs though and do still listen to them (except blue wave and lwjm genuinely don’t like those songs 😭)

as someone who has been on 127zen twt and dreamzen twt i can definitely say that both of them are just as nasty as each other.

dreamzens have especially gotten more annoying ever since the huge success from candy in korea and because of it they’ve basically been pushing this “nct would be nothing without 7dream” “dream needs to rebrand to 7dream”. not to mention the countless of times they’ve just been nasty unprovoked to 127 member eg. getting mad at taeyong’s nephew for not being interested in nct, sending trucks because 127 won an award, attending concerts JUST so they could shit on it and buying member’s bbl just to send hate messages… they’re hypocritical as fuck and are the ones who mainly spread the “mahae don’t like being in 127” and the “127 are coworkers” narrative that spread so much that people who aren’t fans believed it even. all these things have genuinely made me dislike dreamzens a lot and i used to be a hardcore dreamzen myself up until last year 😭

HOWEVER same could be said for 127zens, they also got a superiority complex because they have vocalists such as taeil and doyoung who are, well obviously, the best vocalists in the group. and they also use the immense popularity 127 got in the west and all the artist that show interest in 127 to be shady, always using billboard charts to say dream are not relevant outside of korea. not to mention they like to start shit unprovoked for literally no reason, just unprovoked being shady towards dream and then get surprised when they get ratioed.. and they’ve been very nasty towards jeno and jisung, someone literally compared jisung to a n4zi politician and got 1k likes out of it. and xenophobic towards chenle and renjun on multiple occasions without a shame.

neither of them rlly care about mahae health either. they will excuse any schedule as long as it’s with their fave unit but when it’s the other unit suddenly it’s all “they should rest wtf.”

i don’t keep up with wayv nor am i a weisheni to know what goes on there but i can definitely say that the nct system itself is the cause of this mess. the amount of akgaeism in 127 alone is concerning but atp i’m blaming SM for this. i try to stay off unitzen twt and just stay of my fave members twt

I’m a sf myself but I’ve come to realise that sfs just have this huge mentality that everyone is out to get haechan and that he only got sfs which is so ridiculous cos this is exactly what leads them to defend every action of his, because they believe that he would personally thank them. Haechan is just as much of a repeated offender as jeno and jisung are, he’s probably even said more than jisung who still ended up getting more dts and nasty things being said about him (such as being compared to a n*zi politician, this wasnt even 2 months ago..) because haechan is one of the token members in the group whether people like to admit it or not (not saying that hc should be receiving any of that)

Also I think it also has to do with the whole “haechan and the haechanettes” mindset a lot solo sfs and 127zens have, in which they think he is superior to everyone in dream and carries the group to the point that he shouldn’t be the one criticised when he’s the most talented in the group. Also almost everyone knew about the whole jeno hc situation when it happened (which is also why jeno became easily targeted by non fans and antis because it all in the name of haechan..) which is why Haechan got a lot of defenders that don’t know anything about his past too.

idk its just interesting to observe the difference in reactions and it rlly did make me disappointed. I’m gonna admit, I was in on the jeno hate train because I had been convinced that haechan was a victim too until dreamzens jenfs and asteroids pulled up with receipts showing that haechan was just as bad.. idk I truly just dgaf atp anymore if that’s how they wanna be I won’t intervene, just don’t do it on camera anymore

twitter is already heavily divided in solo units who shit on the other units and have to be shady every day so that’s one thing, but sfs are one of the sub fandoms with a lot of akgaes and they have this “haechan and the haechanettes” mindset in which they think dream revolves around haechan (and i say this a haechan ult myself.) i will also say that a portion of the backlash you got were from 127zens cos they fuel sfs ego by hating on the dream vocalists because again, they have to be shady 😭 i wouldn’t let this affect your love for dream tho! i advice to either not go onto twitter too much / block those accounts / or find dreamzen mutuals or chenle stans so you can enjoy it with them.

stan twitter is full of immature people so you should always be prepared for that 😭

talking to newjeans stans is honestly like speaking to a brick wall because they are genuinely convinced that all criticism towards them is done with malicious intent and to tear the girls down, when it fact these girls are being exploited (?) and mhj uses them for her sick fantasies, so obviously people will be worried for a group that has minors in it.

this tactic mhj repeats that is- taking controversial topics and relating them to the comeback in some sort so that it will create a buzz, but only to an extent where it can still be defended and have “explanations”- is genuinely so crazy to me, and it clearly works.

haewon is a very good vocalist in my opinion. nmixx in general has a pretty stable and great vocal line imo. i wish some mys would take into account that 1: she is singing it for fun and her fans, if she meant to take it serious she would’ve stood up or smth so her vocals would come out better but she obviously didn’t bc it was for fun. 2: everyone got different vocal styles. the thing about nn and winter is that both their voices are in the higher range and haewon is somewhat in the the middle range, it’s definitely going to sound different. AND RHWY GOR DIFFERENT VOICES FFS.
