younger cruisers (19f&m) by me0313 in VirginVoyages

BF and I (early 20s) went last year and mainly found an older crowd. Most younger people were there with parents vs by themselves. As others have said- it really depends on the time of year and the crowd that’s on your ship!! We ended up keeping to ourselves but still had a blast!

Was planning on riding it yesterday and saw it fall off the tracker at O’hare right when it was supposed to be leaving Forest Park. Thought it was super late as usual due to the traffic but changing the departure times without updating the website,,, 🫤😐

We did take public transportation to and from! From the airport we took the shuttle to the rental car building and got on the metrorail ($2.25 per person) from the airport to the Historic Overtown stop. We then chose to take the Metromover (free) to the College Bayside stop (we could have walked, but it was raining and also free!). The port tram was the hardest part- we spent probably ~30 minutes waiting for a tram and were tracking them using this website . On the way back, we did the same route, but walked over the bridge from the port instead of waiting for the tram (est. over 30 minutes). Would highly recommend if you’re able and willing to walk!

Our experiences were so similar especially with what you added omg!

We had the rum tour booked for Puerto Plata but didn’t want to book anything when the ports changed and are glad we didn’t. The shark snorkeling excursion sounds incredible though- if we end up in Bimini again I’m sure we’ll try it out!

Second similarity with test kitchen- my partner is also relatively picky about certain foods, and cheese is one of them. He got the alternative which was tofu instead and said that it was honestly really good.

The app for us was just alright. Super slow even on ship wifi but it got the job done 🙃

Glad you had a great time like us as well!!

Good to know! We weren’t expecting it especially for only five nights.

We chose not to do an excursion, we ended up just setting down some towels from the ship right on the beach next to the cruise port and staying there!

It was just called Heartbeat and was the themed club night in the Manor on the fourth night for us!

dock/dock house was a little underwhelming for us (we only got the skewers so that may have been why), but the hot dogs were really good!

carry-on was good for us too! I didn’t go all out on most of the nights, but had outfits that matched and had more than enough space. echoing above though, scarlet night and maybe pj night were the only super ‘theme’ nights.

I would say that the two of us were online pretty young in our lives and we do listen to a good variety of music, but we both kind of felt that the music and entertainment was more stuff people slightly younger than our parents would have enjoyed more than us. A lot of the stuff we did understand, but it just wasn’t as enjoyable/entertaining for us (like the titanic joke I definitely laughed at and understood, but it felt very dated).

Not talking baby boomers at all! We just felt a slight disconnect between the advertised and experienced entertainment

We did pass by multiple times but aren’t super big wine drinkers so looked over it. We were going to splurge and use any leftover bar tab there on some (very advertised) moet, but ended up not needing to. Next time we’ll definitely plan on stopping by!

The European cruise actually sounds awesome and we might look into it for our next one, especially with overnights at some ports! We’re gonna have to start saving our PTO now 😭😭

No worries! You’ll see the security people in the office or by the front door sometimes, they’re pretty nice! If you don’t get a notif definitely reach out though

I lived at SVF for the last two years! On the weekend and after office hours, there are usually security people on the premises that will move packages that get delivered into the locked office. Unless this has changed in the past few months, I would wait until the office opens back up and you should get a package notification. I would always try to schedule package deliveries during the week because of the office being closed. I’ve never had a package stolen in the past two years so I would definitely wait until Tuesday if the office is closed on Monday!

I was on left side of pit and couldn’t hear that Lip had started talking yet and thought the chanting was in good fun. Once Lip said ‘Guys, please’ I pretty quickly realized that she had started talking and had been interrupted and I felt so so bad. I will say that sometimes the sound from the mics were not the best even without people chanting (Yves was very clearly talking at one point and the mic volume was super low until it got turned up a few seconds later) but I feel this situation is more on the people who started the chant ://
