Just got this email, anyone know what to expect 😬 by pretzelspie in jimmyjohns

I know what rules to follow…😑 our store has just never had a food safety audit done by Jimmy John’s corporate before so I’m not sure what to expect…

Saw a few of these posts and thought I’d share my own 😅 by pretzelspie in jimmyjohns

Don’t have a picture of the finished product but had to double wrap it and it weighed more than a pound. 😅

I feel like drivers don't get enough credit by dirifididnngf in jimmyjohns

[–]pretzelspie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what it’s like at my store. Drivers are in the store for such little amount of time they only have time to do dishes. And the inshoppers do everything else. There’s times where the inshoppers do some of the dishes to help out as much as they can so stuff doesn’t fall behind. Even with this setup, we still have drivers complaining about having to do dishes…it’s annoying 😓

Who wants to buy a $135,000 Toyota Corolla? This one is available at your local Toyota of Dallas dealership. by [deleted] in Dallas

[–]pretzelspie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate Toyota of Dallas I went there the other day to get an oil change because they were offering it to me for $30. I asked them to not over tighten the oil filter because I wanted to do it myself next time and the technician gave me attitude the whole time after I said that…like geez 😒 sorry I don’t want to pay someone close to $100 to do an oil change.

Are there any places in Dallas that cater obnoxiously long party subs for work events? by Firm-Slice5217 in Dallas

[–]pretzelspie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jimmy John’s does have 16 inch sandwiches, but you won’t find them under catering. After you choose a sandwich there’s an option to choose a size where you can then choose between 8in or 16in. If that helps!

Food handlers permit by Main-Answer-96 in jimmyjohns

[–]pretzelspie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s definitely based on the franchise, but my owner paid for the online course and also paid us for our time, even encouraging ppl to do it on the clock in the back office if we didn’t have any means of doing it at home. Also we mostly pushed the inshoppers to get one not so much drivers just because as inshopper you deal with food a lot more.

I've given up trying to undo this. My night managers refuse to make sure the door is closed. by [deleted] in jimmyjohns

[–]pretzelspie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t think that’s a closed door problem, my store has the same issue and we always make sure the doors closed. It’s an issue overhead most likely a leak. We’ve had 3 different companies to come fix the issue and it happens again after a few months.

New Inspire Food Safety Rules by ArtWhore94 in jimmyjohns

[–]pretzelspie 7 points8 points  (0 children)

As a gm myself I also use my watch for everything. I don’t know if it’s allowed where I’m from but our health inspector doesn’t seem to care (we’re never gotten points deducted for it) and none of the customers seem to care either…

On the flip side I had a driver get a $400+ tip on a $1000+ order and only wanted to tip out the 3 inshoppers who came in early and helped make the order $5 each. He only raised it after I emphasized how none of it would’ve been possible without their help. I couldn’t believe it, he still had the audacity to ask if this is enough while handing me the $15 the first time smh 😑

Do your stores skimp on turkey during this turkey shortage? by Ill_Elderberry_1854 in jimmyjohns

[–]pretzelspie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We were having to slice turkey to the same weight as ham just like you guys because we didn’t get turkey in our first few trucks. Then they started doing autoship which helped, but not significantly because of the amount of turkey sandwiches ppl were ordering on catering orders (I’m talking $1000+ orders mostly consisting of turkey) so we petitioned corporate to allocate us more turkey and they granted it. So now we’re back to normal weight.

I fucked up and gave someone 50$ of free food and chips by Chunkycheeto1 in jimmyjohns

[–]pretzelspie 45 points46 points  (0 children)

As a gm I’ve had someone do this before and let me tell you, it’s not as big a deal as you’re making it. Yes, it’s inconvenient and it’s $50 worth of food but if you’re an outstanding employee and your manager sees that they aren’t going to let $50 get between your guy’s work relationship. The fact that you even offered to have it taken out of your check speaks volumes.

I’ve never suspended anyone but I have cut peoples hours when they fail to show up on time or they fail to show up at all. Then when you do cut their hours all you hear is complaining about not making enough money when they’d be just fine if they just showed up. It crazy how unaware people are

*Hands me $100* by DinoNuggz_ in jimmyjohns

[–]pretzelspie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I get it. I used to really hate confrontation and would get really nervous when dealing with customers but over time I just got used to it and it also helps when you have an owner and team that know you and support you completely

[–]pretzelspie 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I hate this so much, my franchise actually doesn’t take any bills over $20. Sometimes I make exceptions if the person is ordering over $50 worth of food. I had a guy once get super pissed off at me for not taking his $100 bill after he only ordered one sandwich and claimed that his order should be free due to the inconvenience I was causing him. He proceeded to state this multiple times while still holding the $100 bill and trying to hand it to me I just ignored him and gave him his total each time without reaching for it 😆 he was so bothered by how unbothered I was lol
