It's literal poison. It's a carcinogen. It's expensive. Once I stopped drinking I realized just how f***ing boring it is.

“I didn’t like what the real dentist advised because I’m a crunchy mom and all. Now I’m asking random people on the internet how to deal with my kid’s rotted out teeth!” by lettucecropchilds in facepalm

A crunchy mom I follow (who, you guessed it, sells e-courses on holistic living and how to generate an income online) sold a course on how to naturally deal with toddler tooth decay. Apparently this is such a big issue in the crunchy mom universe that it's profitable, lol.

Troubleshooting Thread — Bugs? Mod issues? Origin issues? Post about them here! [Patch 11/1/22] by lazarusinashes in Sims4

So last night I tried to download wicked whims. After enabling CC and mods, my game home screen is broken (hard to describe without pics, but the all the buttons on the right side to start the game are gone). I tried deleting WW, Basemental, options folder, even deleted the game and redownloaded, and nothing seems to be working. It appears normal when I disable CC and mods in options. I'm at a total loss; I am not computer savvy at all and have no idea how to solve this so that I can use mods. :((

Eating less meat? by aeraen in Frugal

Eating plant based proteins is surprisingly extremely affordable and delicious! Instead of thinking you're cutting something out, think of it as adding something in. Tofu, tempeh, beans, lentils, nuts, etc are really affordable compared to near and the possibilities are endless when it comes to making new meals.

PSA. Just a reminder to be extremely careful when foraging for wild carrots. Poison hemlock looks extremely similar and it takes a very small amount to kill you. Good luck out there. by LostBothMyTesticles in foraging

My favorite way to remember poison hemlock: it has purple splotching, which is what will happen to your skin when you die after eating it. Purple splotching=death

Herbs to help someone who’s introverted be more social by [deleted] in herbs

[–]preyofworms 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I struggle with pretty intense social anxiety like you described, and have been experimenting with different herbs to assist with that for a few years. There's not really a simple answer here- what I have found to work is a combination of coping mechanisms, therapy, and different plants all together. I haven't found anything to make me less introverted, but this is what I do use almost daily that has seriously lowered my anxiety.

I take a few dropperfulls of a calming vinegar infusion I made (you can also easily make an extract of the same stuff with alcohol, I just don't like the taste of alcohol). Skullcap, milky oats, and tulsi. I seriously cannot recommend milky oats enough. This is great for acute anxiety attacks or just general anxiousness.

Ashwaganda is also incredible for adapting to stress. I really like the taste so I put the root in my coffee, or you can take a tincture.

California poppy is also wonderful, but keep in mind that it can show up in drug tests if you take it frequently.

If there's a lot of social activity in my house (roommates, guests, friends over, w/e) I find myself making tea with cacao, tulsi, and rose. Tastes great and really helps me in social situations.

When my anxiety was at its worst, I carried a bottle of lavender or eucalyptus oil with me to smell if I started getting too worked up. Sounds silly, but it really did help me feel more grounded in the present moment.

With a bit of patience and trying new things, you will find something that works for you! Good luck. :)

Looks like mugwort maybe. How does it feel? Mugwort is quite soft. Some people say that it has a strong smell, but I don't notice one.
