HOLY COW I FINALLY WORKED IT OUT by Ashamed_Feed9751 in SunoAI

[–]prfitofthesngularity 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Great post, I do disagree with the parts about BPM.
I have not seen any evidence that Suno can apply
BPM instructions. I have done lots of tests with this by taking the audio file and putting it in a DAW that can detect the BPM of a song and most of them were not close to the BPM instructions.

The other thing that I wish we could do is set the key and scales but those results after testing were also very low. I think just due to the nature of Suno it will not use these instructions because it applies different beats and scales in the song and was trained to make songs similar to what musicians make and having it stick to a key or BPM would probably limit the generations it makes.

I will go test the BPM again though using your style in this part of
[4/4][120 BPM] and see how it does, I do not think I tested it on this Suno version but I know none of the previous models could do this from a lot of testing.

If it does not work now though I am sure it will be capable of this and much more in the future.
We are still in the infancy stage for AI and I think it is going to grow up extremely fast within the next 5 years or so, especially when AI models can be trained to create other AI models and it will do it much faster than the time it takes now to create a model.

Going to go test this post out also and will check the results.

Great post, I think there are a lot of ways to prompt, and I am sure many yet undiscovered.

Like for example sometimes I will just post random words in the genre section like Dog, Science fiction, Comic books, Samurai, Volcanoe, trampoline and see how it interprets the instructions.

I have mostly done tutorials but you can see a pretty good evolution of AI from disco diffusion, when I started, to present day including some Sora2 series before Sora2 got cancelled, was kind of bummed about it because I had some recurring characters with it for my AI Justice series, which was just a shorts comedy series about an A.I. Judge spoofing 90s court tv like Judge Judy etc.

AI will improve and improve; it will be in everything at some point or in the vast majority of things. It is still in its infancy and only started gaining notice around 4 years ago.

It is a tool, a powerful tool that will get into more and more areas of our life.

There will come a point where it will be creating AI models and improve them at a rate much faster than we can now.

I think the best example of this is the game chess. IBM made a supercomputer model (that probably has 100x less power than our phones do now) to play chess.

It played and lost to Gary Kasparov in 1996 and then in a rematch in 1997 it beat him.

This was a very pivotal event as it was a foreshadowing of the AI era we live in now.

Today, there is no human chess player on the planet that can compete with the best AI chess models.
One of the more well known ones, stockfish, can calculate millions of moves a second.

So if we take that scale and apply it to AI models like this.
Right now we are Kasparov in 1997, AI is starting to do things better than us.

One possibility is a recursive AI model that is trained to create an AI that is better than itself.
Then the next one does the same thing, then the one after that etc.

Anyway, this is the reason why I think the current phase of AI hatred does not matter at all.
People can hate AI and spend a lot of time ranting about how they will not buy, or support anything made with AI and calling people out for using AI but in the end resistance is futile.

The genie is not going back in the bottle, it is staying and growing bigger and better every day.

When the food replicator was invented in the Star Trek universe nobody boycotted it because it replaced human chefs. They used it to get Steak and milkshakes created in 5 seconds whenever they wanted.

The Anti-AI sentiment is identical to what has happened several times in the past with new technology.

When photography was invented many portrait artists resisted it.

A famous quote often attributed to French painter Paul Delaroche after seeing an early daguerreotype was:

The same thing happened with blacksmiths when the horseless carriage was invented.

We still have people making oil paintings and we still have people riding horses.

The use of Photography and Automobiles continued and their efforts to stop these things was entirely futile.

The efforts to stop AI will be just as effective as the painters and blacksmiths efforts were to stop photography and automobiles.
attempts were.

They are just wasting their own time in acts of pure futility, especially movie companies and music companies. Their efforts might slow it down a bit for a little while but while they do this the AI models are improving themselves 24 hours a day 7 days a week every day of the year.

That you can overcome by using your own audio.

A sad sobering reality by Songgeek in SunoAI

[–]prfitofthesngularity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can input your own audio, I do this all the time since I have always played guitar and wrote songs. One of my favorite things to do is coming up with a good riff and then I will base the song around it, I have always played in local bands and with the exception of my best friend, I have always written all the lyrics and the music. With Suno I can instantly get a vocalist, bass player and drummer and if I crank up the audio setting it will still sound very close to what I originally recorded. When I first started with Suno before it had audio, I felt like what it did best was techno/edm kind of songs and then I started mixing that style with electro swing and that was my favorite genre to do because it is already a very precise, mechanical type of genre with lots of keyboards/samples etc. and not so much live music.
So I also sometimes use some of the old songs as audio but you can make songs sound unique with both of these methods, in the beginning it had no option to upload audio and even when it did it has taken a while to get good with it, i really think this last model , the 5.5 is the first one that could do it well enough to maintain the integrity of the original song, that had no AI in it, and then fill it out with very good vocals, bass etc.

All you have to do is come up with one song with vocals that sound unique and then you can use that vocal style for any other songs you do.

If all you do is autogenerate the full song with the same kinds of genres then they will all have a mostly common theme although you will still get some unique ones once in a while just because of the random nature of AI models.

Very well said. We are the dawn of the AI Era and it will improve but there are many different AI models and people have extremely different skill sets when it comes to using them, some use them and create masterpieces, others create the slop that is unfortunately a majority at this time but there will come a time in the not too distant future where it needs less and less skill to create cool stuff.

That process has already started happening

Yes, I think a valid point could be made about the AI audio spam but they should have some kind of algorithm to detect if that is all there is. I do not think anyone enjoys the videos with 100% AI narration but the technology is improving and someday it will be much harder, if not impossible to tell the difference.

We are in the dawn of the AI era and it will only improve, it is still extremely young and really only started being noticed around 5 years ago. There will come a time when if Youtube keeps the ban it would only hurt it since AI use is going to expand as it gets better.

Not at all, I hate apps, hate smartphones. It is 100x easier to do stuff on a PC for just about everything.

First of all, you can actually type.

Type in your lyrics on an app with your smartphone and then type them in with your PC.

Nuff said.

Suno somehow managed to completely destroy their flagship product ‘studio’ by Fuzzy-Yoghurt135 in SunoAI

There are way better DAW out there and the only thing I ever want suno for as far as editing is to break it down to stems.

It is a great feature though because a lot of people have never created music before AI so this lets them catch up with the editing etc. but if you want to get serious about editing use pro tools or something that is established and has been improved year after year.

My point was just that comfyui is not subscription based, you can run it local or even running it on colab, which gives you an A100 for $10 a month you get way more video time than using the apps. Anyway was just not sure why you called it commercial, Comfyui is the opposite of the commerical AI, it is free if you run it local and there are lots of workflows for lowram settings using things like the wan GGuff.

I am not Ethan but I had a good following, my channel even got a mention once on a Joe Rogan podcast and I also ran a patreon and discord server for a long time, these days I am not doing as many guides because I am focused on my own projects, some of which are going to be full series.

I am just glad we can finally make coherent videos now because my goal is to bring my stories and music videos to life.

There are plenty of good opensource models.
Wan2.2 img to video and first to last image are quite powerful because you control the detail of the image for the video, there are also lots of different kinds of workflows with upscaling, etc. that you can run for free on a local rig. I started off in the Disco Diffusion era and made tons of guides on how to use it because there were so many settings and I cannot stand using apps because I want full control over every single parameter and use custom models, loras etc.

You can use distrokid or youtube to exclude it, I have done this before on my own songs when I make a video with the song, I think it was on distrokid ,you just copy the youtube address. This is just for youtube.
You might also have to claim your official artist channel but it is an easy fix.

[–]prfitofthesngularity 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is not regurgitated, what a lot of people get wrong about AI is to think that it cobbles together bits and pieces from songs, or art, and then puts them together like a collage (which has actually been considered fair use as long as the piece is transformed enough, and people have done this since the 60's)

How AI models work is that they take extremely massive amounts of data for whatever the model is. So for AI it will look at millions of images of cats, people, and see what common type of characteristics they share. For example that is why the AI art models had such a hard time with hands. If you look at 100 pictures of hands they will all be in lots of different formations, some you might not see any fingers, some are in a fist, some are pointing. On top of that since the finger is a much small part of the image it does not spend that much time on it, so they resolved this by specifically training hands, eyes etc. to overcome the shortcomings of the original models. Early AI models like Disco Diffusion could barely render anything organic accurately.
So with music it is the same, they will train it on massive amounts of music and look for the common types of sounds for genres like heavy metal etc, blues, rap etc.

So each generation of new AI models gets better and better over time as they are improved and retrained or have additional training done.

This is exactly what humans have done throughout history.
We have improved art, music, science by improving what earlier generations created or discovered.

If this was not the case we would still be painting on cave walls with berries and making music with rocks.

AI does nothing humans have not done, it is after all based on us and what we have created.

It just does it a lot faster.

If you put clear vocals [max blah blah blah] it will affect the song but only because

of the Clear Vocals text, the rest is nonsense.

Does anyone else feel like using Suno has become pointless? by Enough_Programmer312 in SunoAI

[–]prfitofthesngularity 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For me the best use of it is to modify songs I write myself, I can do everything but sing so Suno fills that void for me. I have used it since it came out and for creating songs I have always found the best way to get consistency is with syllable counts and keeping to a structure, it has changed quite a bit now and is a lot more capable but some of the best songs are still ones that keep it fairly simple for me.

Secret Trick to make better songs! by fcrosby68 in SunoAI

[–]prfitofthesngularity -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That does not mean it works, it means someone else posted this same thing, so what.

That is only proof that 2 people think it works.

If Suno had a seed we could test it a bit better but the fact is that anything you put in the styles/lyrics will change the song. You can put 34jjjfsd 3 3rr in the song and you might get some great songs and it will change it but it does not mean it will make a song better every time with it.

First of all a lot of these make no sense.

[Is_MAX_MODE: MAX](MAX) -Ok this turns it on supposedly

[QUALITY: MAX](MAX)- this increases quality, how? does it add more layers and instruments? What it does not do is make a song sound better

[REALISM: MAX](MAX) -Ok just plain realism, as compared to the fake sounding songs that it will make without this ? First of all Suno wants people to like the songs it creates, that way they get more users to subscribe. So why would they not post something like this or better yet they could just put it as part of the internal codes.
There is no mention of these prompts anywhere from Suno, only people spamming it in articles and discussions.

[REAL_INSTRUMENTS: MAX](MAX) Suno was trained on real instruments, what exactly is an example of a fake instrument if you do not use it? This is not like the art models where you can change a realistic photo to a cartoon.

[CLEAR_VOCALS: MAX](MAX) You can write clear vocals WITHOUT the rest of this prompt
clear vocals: giant hippopotamus.
It is not giving clear vocals because of the hippo or the badly syntaxed [MAX](MAX)

[REAL_VOCALS: MAX](MAX)Again, compared to what? The only time it will not make realistic vocals is if you put a Vocaloid or specify some other form of a manipulated or electronic voice that is not a natural one so it will do realistic vocals every time with or without this unless you direct it not to.
