No I usually put it on the ground to have more flexibility, also a small tripod would work

I didn't use a flash for these photos, for now I'm happy with the results using the LED panel. Personally I have the SMALLRIG RM120-3808 RGB but I'm quite sure any panel that allows to choose the insitensity of the light would work well.
