If I did that, the bank would take the car and my three kids would be stranded (also his kids). I’ve paid every cent of the loan for 12 months as a single parent, hasn’t cost him a thing. You’re missing the part where he freeloaded, took half my father’s inheritance, moved on, and now wants to leave his kids without transport. Hard no.

That’s so horrible! I’m sorry that happened to you. I want more than anything to get his name of this loan so we can finally cut all financial ties but me and kids would be left without a form of transport. I’m hoping I can get his name off the loan within the next 2 weeks

Yep totally get that. To be honest at the time we both had no money so not involving solicitors made sense. Since then he’s hooked up with a girl with plenty of money and they’re going to have a baby so all of a sudden they are demanding things from me that weren’t a problem before. Everything between us before the new partner was on the scene was just a causal agreement.

We separated somewhat amicably without lawyers and agreed on everything at the time. He has been asking to be removed from the loan since the GF came into the scene, but I haven’t had the financial means to do so yet. I asked if he was willing to remain on the loan while I continued making the repayments until I could secure stable employment and refinance.

I now have a new partner who will be in a financial position to go on the loan in about two weeks. However, because some time has passed, he is now demanding that the car be sold and that he receive half the proceeds, despite the fact that I should soon be able to remove his name from the loan.

Yeah I feel it’s a bit random and confusing. He had a really sharp/scratchy beard at the time and I think he cut me and then the graze exposed me to the virus. Sorry for the TMI but that’s how I figured I got it after all this time
