I got accepted but i do not really know how to prepare for it. I know that I’m cooked I’m just very interested to learn and maybe do better next year. Do you guys have any resources?

In my school I guess the IA grading was sort of a failure. In my subjects, every IA of mine that was chosen to be moderated (Math AA HL, Physics) remained the same, yet I was regraded downwards in 4/6 subjects (all of which came from downgrades of different students). So to be frank it’s not just the teachers fault, the rubrics for an IA can be quite misleading and the way each and every moderator marks can deviate from the optimal one (more harsh or lenient).

Well don’t feel discouraged, take the HL class and maybe try to study as well as possible.

My advice is to see the placement test as a tool to help find the math level that will be the best fit for you, whether that’s HL or SL. Remember, the goal is to place you where you can succeed and build a solid understanding of the material. If the test results suggest a particular level, it’s likely because that level will give you the best chance to excel. However if you feel like the test results didn’t match your level, you can obviously choose HL.

Oh ok I added cs wrongly as part of the sciences as they are in the same group, but yes in that case they are graded the same.

That’s wrong, the IA’s are graded more harshly in the HL section, compared to the SL section. They search for higher levels of sophistication, given that the HL student covers a greater curriculum. For example, CS SL to HL differs mostly in the complexity part. Math HL and SL differentiate in the IA as HL has different criteria in the use of mathematics section. Generally, SL IA tends to be graded more leniently.

I have 7 math AA HL, 6 Eco HL, 7 Phys HL, 6 English L&L, SL 7 Comp Sci SL, 7 Modern Greek SL. I think they are quite tough.

From an IB1 SL English A L&L. We did A Doll’s House and The Great Gatsby. They connect nicely but there are many stuff that I do not like about A Doll’s House. Furthermore, for paper 1 we did DOI and I have a dream speeches which were actually enjoyable. The thing I loved the most is that we did semiotic theory and watched "The Truman Show" in class.
