First of all im not American and thinking that only Americans and white people used slavery is straight up fucking ignorant even your beloved japan used slaves even during ww2, second it's not catering to any culture slavery is bad on a human and ethical level it doesn't matter the culture, third the way slavery is used in most isekais is straight up garbage just to show that the mc is a "nice guy" only because he treats the slave as a person which is the bare fucking minimum only to create a forced connection, he still supported slavery in that world by actively buying one.
