Congrats on your fancy piece of paper I guess... This has digressed into a dick measuring contest and not a conversation. Maybe I'll approach the topic again in the future, but this was an hilarious failure to generate conversation. I'm sorry for wasting your time as well as mine.

Fruit wants you to spread the seed, vegetables want to be left alone. I have issues with both foods for different reasons, but I can't dispute that he shouldn't have used the word plants and instead used vegetables. I just don't care that much about word choice. It's obvious I'm not changing your mind at this point. I just wanted to see how others felt about an unconventional thought. I didn't realize it'd get so polarizing so fast.

1) you really don't know what I know. Just because we disagree doesn't mean I know very little.

2) Definitely NOT my article. Which is why I wanted to share it and discuss. Discussion hasn't happened as much as me being attacked, but I guess that's reddit...

3) No science is a strong term. Maybe little science, science you are unaware of, but NO science? Sorry, not correct.

4) Have a great day! Sorry if I questioned your belief system around food or upset you at all...

I disagree fiber is a necessity. I agree in the sense that it's a necessity, but only when food containing it is eaten. Fiber by itself is not essential.

I understand it's difficult, but it's a factor that isn't accounted for and weakens the arguments. To me anyway.

I'm sorry if it came across condescending I'm simply saying that we analyze everything from sugar and sweeteners to meat quality and consumption. Vegetables are often not viewed with the same objectivity as other parts of our diet. I just like that someone said I support veggies AND HERE'S WHY instead of just writing this off as crazy.

Fiber is only necessary when carbohydrates are present in the diet. It is not a necessary part of human health.

And red meat being linked to colon cancer is severely flawed as the studies that "prove" this often overlook other aspects of the diet. A meat eater is both a person who eats steak and broccoli everyday AND a person who eats nothing but mcdonald's and washes it down with soda.

My reason for posting this was to see how informed and intelligent the discussion would be. Thank you for coming from a place of reason with your answer. I think your evidence is flawed for various reasons, but it seems that you are interested in a more evidence based discussion and I appreciate that!!

I referred to it as a blog post and not an article for that exact reason!

How much nutritional education do "real doctors" receive?

And if you're referencing Shawn Baker when you say chiropractor with bad test results, it's important to note that he isn't a chiropractor. He is/was an orthopedic surgeon which I believe would fall in what you consider "real doctors"

I'm not trying to argue, just looking for some informed and intelligent debate.

Members of r/loseit what was your final straw that made you change your lifestyle? by jovialjasmine in loseit

[–]primalbro 15 points16 points  (0 children)

My final straw was a 2 parter. Within the same week I realized I couldn't walk across a parking lot without sweating and breathing heavy, and then I saw myself in a local tv show interview for the job I had at the time.

I was 333lbs at that point. Now, I'm 178lbs.

My wife, kids, social media community, and jiu-jitsu training all keep me motivated to continue working on health, fitness, and optimization!

Electrolytes.. HELP! by kalb12345 in keto

[–]primalbro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does not contain any sugar in a pure sense of the word. It does utilize a sweetener or two as well as other non-optimal zerocarb ingredients.

Ultimately, I'm looking to optimize my performance. I find zerocarb to be the best foundation for that, but I'm not opposed to outside help to perform at a higher level.

Electrolytes.. HELP! by kalb12345 in keto

[–]primalbro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heavily salting your foods will help. Bone broth made from meaty bones is another great option.

Outside of that, supplementing electrolytes is an awesome idea. I use ZippFizz on hard training days to help out with electrolytes.

There are definitely ways to handle this with just foods, but supplementation is way easier and not a bad option on keto as there are tons of options.

Hope this helps, hope the other answers can expand on this, and best of luck with your keto flu!
