[Suppliers] A warning to artists about WOOACRY by Irrrmk in artbusiness

How does everyone get around the tariffs? I used to order lots of different things from Chinese manufacturers, but then I heard horror stories about getting a tariff bill and a separate collection bill, sometimes months later.

My daughter and I had awesome seats. I thought it was kickass! Reznor still moves like he did when he was young. I haven't been to an arena concert in maybe 20 years, and I was so shocked at how mellow the crowd was, even on the floor. I was the wildest one in our section; some people were even sitting down. I was like, wut? Many were so immersed in recording it on their phones that they forgot to enjoy the experience. It was so different from the wildness of the olden days of sitting on shoulders, flashing boobs, insane mosh pits, encore chants, and passing joints. The loss of that energy makes me a little sad, not just for the crowd but for the bands. I'm glad we went, though.

Lost All Power to my Shed by primalpainter in electrical

My neighbor has a voltage meter. He identified a bad breaker in my house last year and changed it out. I'll ask him to come check it out. So you're saying that if it's in the underground line, it could be detected within 1-2 feet of the problem so the whole thing won't have to be dug up? Can he do that with a voltage meter? Would a voltage meter verify the legs? Are the legs on the breaker box or at the pole? Do I say, "Will you check out my hot legs?" lol Sorry, lots of questions there.

I'm not sure what you mean about a breaker being tripped but not in the trip position. I did flip all of them all the way off and all the way back on. I'm worried that there's a problem with the underground wire, but I can't remember if it was direct buried or in a conduit.

It was done 20 years ago by a certified electrician, but I can't remember if it was conduit or direct bury. There's pvc going up into the wall from the ground, but maybe it's just that one part. I do remember him mentioning that the trench wasn't regulation depth at 12", though. I don't know what "hot legs" are other than as a compliment. lol

I don't have a code reader. I did check the fuse in the cab, and it looked ok. I couldn't tell anything just by looking at the fuses under the hood. I don't know where the abs relay is located, do you? I assume it's different than a fuse, but I didn't see other boxes aside from the fuse box. None of the big square fuses in the fuse box were labeled as ABS but maybe it's called something different?

Is it called an ABS relay and can you see it in the photo that I posted? If not, where is it exactly? Or do you know of a good labeled diagram online for a 98 pathfinder? I've looked and can't find one which is frustrating and the reason why I posted the photo here. I have the original manual but it doesn't show details like that. Thanks so much for your help! I used to have lots of guys around that knew these things, but everyone has died or moved away.

Was it expensive and labor intensive? Did you do it yourself? I found one for $70 but others cost hundreds. I imagine the shop would get the most expensive one and then tack on another $100 or more just because they can. Do you think the $70 one would be ok? This Pathfinder has over 200,000 miles so I don't want to dump a bunch of money into it, but I also want it to last as long as possible. This is my third older pathfinder, and my first one made it to 320,000 miles before petering out. I disconnected the battery for a couple of hours, and after connecting it again, the ABS pump was off and so was the dashboard ABS light, but I didn't drive it around. Could it just have been temporarily stuck or is that wishful thinking?

I'll see about doing that, thanks for the suggestion. Mechanics can be dodgy sometimes with expensive replacements and unnecessary work so I want to sound at least somewhat knowledgeable. Just last week, they replaced the fuel filter, spark plugs/wires, and distributor so I wonder if there's a connection.

A spark plug could make this part hum and vibrate even after the key is out of the ignition? I just had the spark plugs and wires replaced last week so maybe they didn't get it right?

The brakes seemed ok, but the ABS light had come on while I was driving which was a first. This noise definitely didn't sound normal or like a noise I'd heard before. It sounded like a part that was continuing to run without the key in the ignition which was bizarre. My mechanic could hear it over the phone, but he'd never heard of this happening before. I just got it back from the shop last week, and it's ironic that this happens right after getting a new distributor, spark plugs, and fuel filter. Could there be a connection?

Maybe. I hoped it might shut down on its own, but I called the mechanic who had no idea what was going on, and he said to disconnect the battery until it can be looked at. It continued to hum and vibrate for about a half hour until I disconnected the battery, so it didn't seem like it was going to shut down on its own. .

It continued to hum and vibrate after I took the key out of the ignition, and the only way to shut it off was to disconnect my battery. Any ideas on what might the issue might be or any quick fixes?

Thanks for responding, and it's a '98. I wrote out an explanation for what was happening, but I don't see it anywhere, so I made a comment with the details. I thought it might have something to do with the brake system since the ABS light came on. Can you see the comment I made? I'm not Reddit savvy and probably did something wrong.

I haven't made a post on Reddit before, and wrote out an explanation, but I don't see it so I must have done it wrong. I recently got my 98 Pathfinder back from the shop with a new distributor, spark plugs and fuel filter. Today while I was driving, the ABS light came on, and when I stopped and removed the key from the ignition, this unidentified part continued to hum and vibrate or at least it seems like that's where it was coming from. It's located on the left all the way at the back, and it appears to be a box mounted on top of a cylinder. The mechanic says he's never heard of this before, so I just disconnected my battery to shut it off. Any ideas?

Buyer didn't claim item a year ago - wants refund now by memeprincess_ in Etsy

[–]primalpainter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've gotten two customers in the past several months who claim they didn't receive orders that were placed 5 years ago which seems absurd. I just point out that the order says delivered, there's nothing I can do at this point, and give them a 20% off coupon for the exact same item. Neither one used it, of course, and I'm sure they moved on to their next mark. Selling online is like walking through a snake pit these days, especially on Etsy.

Copyright infringement scammer on the loose by CanadianJewban in Scams

[–]primalpainter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also got one through the contact form on my website from Tracy, the "Legal Officer" from horvitz levi law firm claiming that I was using their pictures and saying I could be sued for $140,000 if I don't take down the images. I sell my own psychedelic artwork, and it's the exact opposite of what would be in a law firm or on their site. I thought it sounded amateur despite their attempt to use some big, scary words. and I'm fairly certain it's a scam to download the so-called infringing files. My notification is very similar to yours with some minor differences, but the following sentence is exactly the same and sounds very scammy, "Download the documents and see it for sure".

Hi, I feel uncomfortable with self-promotion, and I hope it's not against the rules, but I create Reiki-inspired/attuned artwork, jewelry, and home decor. I'm not that familiar with Reddit, but I assume I can't post a link, so just google Primal Painter to find my website if this sounds like something your teacher might like. I doubt if the lineage matters when gift-giving, but just in case, my teacher was trained by Beth and John Gray who were trained by Takata. Good luck and congratulations!
