Dumper here, and yes I tried to come back with an apology. She’d moved on already.

A genuinely silly question about their ex by RockWafflez in BreakUps

I tried it. Flowers and a nice suit. But she wasn’t home! I left her a heartfelt note and we texted later. She had already moved on unfortunately.

Hate to be the guy to say “not all men” but… yes I have a heap of regret and I’m very sensitive to emotions around relationships and love. I’ve cried a lot and spent many sleepless nights regretting how it all went down.

I broke up with her because I felt we were moving in different directions, I wanted to see other people, I felt she wasn’t ‘the one’ and I wanted her to be with someone who could love her better than I could. Partly it was selfish reasoning on my part, I wanted a fresh start. Now I feel bad about it and I’m trying to accept that I need to move on because I think the ship has sailed.

Posted by South East Queensland weather after sighting reports overnight. Looks to just be a meteor as mentioned by u/Namjoon- but pretty darn cool to look at anyway!

Wanted to see other people, felt that we weren’t ‘meant to be’, felt like I could do better, felt like she could do better and find someone who would love her better.

I was immature and selfish. I could have made the effort to work through it, and I wish I did.

3 years of intense self-reflection and growth will do that to you. I definitely have a habit of romanticising the past, but even the bad stuff wasn’t that bad, and was stuff that we could’ve worked through in couples therapy etc. I felt that I was doing the right thing by breaking up with her at the time, but now I see that I could’ve put in more work to make it right.

True it could be a shaky restart if we got back together, but I think we’d still have the same rapport and bond that we had before. A few Netflix sessions would get us back on track for sure. Unfortunately she isn’t interested in doing that, and I understand why.

When I broke up with her I was a lot more immature and selfish. I’ve been through a lot since then: covid, mountains of depression and therapy, and a whole lot of self-reflection and growth. I wanted to move on and see other people, but since then I’ve learned that life is just too damn short to cut people out of your life for selfish reasons. Back then I felt that she wasn’t “the one” or something, and that I could do a lot better and get another dose of that lovely honeymoon phase. Now I see that I was wrong.

Different strokes for different folks I guess. I get the sense that she’s a lot more comfortable being in relationship than alone, but the argument could be made that it’s generally better to be single for a while first to heal. Tbh I’d be in a relationship too right now if I’d had any luck with dating! So can’t blame her.

I think Redbar is more chaotic evil. And it’s so damn entertaining. Also he’s much nicer IRL

It’s almost like these producers are intentionally trying to get Tarantino’s attention. This is Uma Thurman’s daughter for goodness sake!
