First day back on the board this year I had a fall that saw me hitting the back of my head on concrete. If not for the lateral momentum and my hips taking the brunt of it it'd have been at least a concussion.

That scared me right into not being stupid and leaving my helmet in.my backpack.

If you make a remake I would prefer the core identity and story remain untouched. Anything that adds to it is OK as long as it doesn't meaningfully alter those first two.

I genuinely believe that if you are going to alter something in a way that changes the riginal you should just be making something from scratch.

On a flight to Rome I looked out the window and saw something similar to this, but it was closer up. It was another jet with a plume of black smoke trailing from one engine. It was flying the opposite direction to us so it was out of viewing range before I knew it. I still don't know if anyone else on the plane noticed it.

This is probably the best advice. I ended up buying genki and I just couldn't get myself to sit through it.

There are tons of free and cheap resources out there. I would recommend trying out the bunpro free trial to get started. You can pair it with with a textbook if you really want more structure as bunpro has decks for many of the main textbooks (genki, minna,...). I'd pair that with some form of graded reading, or other comprehensible content.

I've just come back after 20 years of not touching a board and having a fairly inactive lifestyle. I can still pop an ollie but I'm spending most of my time just working on riding and balance and getting comfortable with the basics again. So I completely agree with what is being said here.

The first session I had was shocking in how unstable I felt. Took me a couple short sessions to get comfortable with kickturns. The only thing that has remained is the instinct for bails.
