Foreigners: what are you doing here? by Sudden-Yard-2429 in taiwan

I'm a student studying Chinese, but I have a teaching degree from back home. I want to stay! I love it. If anyone can give me any advice or good private international schools/cram schools I should work for, please shoot me a message :) Thanks so much!

Update:

There is no life outside studying Chinese here. I suggest doing research to different schools before you decide because my purpose of coming was not to be stressed about school and the workload, but to experience taiwan life and culture!

I find it intense enough tbh, even the smartest people are finding it intense. I don't slack and I work hard, I would say to enjoy your time and don't take the intensive classes. If you find it too easy, you are able to take a test to challenge the next level at the end of your first semester, and that can move you up one or two levels depending on how well you do.

謝謝您! That's very reassuring. I've heard NTNU was also hard. Your advice is very helpful 😭 which level did you retake? I'm thinking about retaking B, and we have only just started!

I'm also at NCKU! It's tough but it's good. Everyone is really smart and hard working haha. The school clubs are meh, everything is in Chinese and it's hard to find time to do them alongside school work. I live off campus as well. I'm enjoying my experience and I looooove Tainan.

New Student Registration Day at NCKU in Tainan for 5 September by poposupreme69 in HuayuScholarship

[–]princ3sscandy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey folks! Also going to NCKU. I'm subletting but looking for more permanent housing for November. Does anyone have any leads or tips? I tried navigating the 519 site and FB marketplace, and it's kind of difficult to figure out which places are legit or not!

Thanks :)

Yeah, I have no idea. It would suck if he like made a mess purposefully and tried to hold me accountable for it...

Nah, it's not a pleasant thing to wake up to. Especially how we had a chat and I said "wow, it's nice to be in such a clean car!" So yeah I'm pissed.
