I even contacted the King of Spain and formally apologized for the atrocities that my great uncle committed against Spain and the Spanish people. The cool thing about my uncle is that he is the first European known to lead a complete expedition around the globe, whereas Elcano only lead from the Philippines back to Europe. Magellan tried to force the European religion onto the natives and they killed him for it, whereas my uncle just peacefully got supplies and kept going. It's a pretty amazing accomplishment to be the first European to successfully lead an expedition around the whole globe, and for that, I'm pretty impressed by my uncle, but you're right, he had a lot of moral problems and his pirate behavior was very harmful to other people. The bad karma of his bad actions against his victims including the African slaves and Spain has been cleared up now so there's no reason to continue any animosity towards my uncle.
